Delicious example of the incredible value to be found in the south of France. 40% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the rest cinsault. Garrigue and blackberry with surprisingly light strawberry notes underneath from the Grenache. For 10 bucks a bottle, just goes to show that if you know where to look there is great value to be had...especially in France — 9 years ago
Bright, tart, and tasty from the Jura. Bit of a meaty nose, but very different to taste. Cranberry; somebody here said underripe red fruit - I'd buy that. Great wine for the price. — 10 years ago
It's got just about as much Brett as I will tolerate, which is not much. But, it's got gobs of fruit and spice. Don't see long term potential but it's quite enjoyable now. — 11 years ago

Biovitis. I've hated the 11s so far. Stewy and alcoholic. And I've tried a few of the good producers. Guignier managed to kill it somehow. Great wine. Nice nose with elegant internal aromatics and nice fruit. Bravo — 12 years ago
Young, but tasty. Much more full bodied than 2014. Blackberry with a touch of earth. Tannic with a tart acidity. Almost more cranberry on the finish. Think it needs more time, but good. A Gamay that can last!? — 9 years ago
Toasted yellow apples, a snap of super-green quince and green per skin, and good leesy breadth, followed by hints of pine nuts. — 10 years ago
Now that's nice! An exceptional spot on Provençal rose at a decent price. Flowers and a bit of spice on the nose, almost a bit raisiny with good earth on the palate. A touch of black pepper zing to finish off. Refreshing. — 11 years ago
This is my cup of tea. High, yet not harsh acid. Long finish. Transparency is the key quality here. The wine screams of terroir. — 11 years ago
Valentines day sparkler - really nice cremant. Dry mineral backbone with a bit of yeast, stonefruit and jasmine - very floral. Great with triple cream and toast. — 12 years ago
Textbook example of traditional chateauneuf du pape. None of the modern, overripe fruit and excess extraction. — 13 years ago
A nice, slightly more restrained style of CDP. Lighter red in the glass, not a ton of fruit jumping from the nose. But a nice pretty silky wine, especially at this age. Versatile pairer. — 9 years ago
JL Southern Rhone tasting 11/15/16. Nose very expressive yet with well integrated earthy rustic and red fruit notes. Elegant palate with suppleness and soft tannins and nice long finish of complex fruits and minerals. No oak used. Scottish owner. Good value $17. — 9 years ago
Young, but in a fresh, lively way for a pretty deep red blend. Second wine of the evening, so lost some nuance. Looking forward to starting with this one. Seems versatile; good value. — 9 years ago
Extremely nice but needs some time in the cellar. Super complex with deep fruit, earth, and plenty of acid. — 10 years ago
Very smooth, good mix of flavors — 11 years ago
