One of my absolute favorite new beverages this year - a Brut, from Normandy, made from apples. The nose comes across like the inner peel of a Honey Crisp but goes brilliantly and seductively dry on first kiss, then wet on your lips going deep and French as it lingers and meanders around your mouth with its electric effervescence bringing you to a more attentive state, while romancing you into its full embrace, as you beg it not to stop, and, at only 5% alcohol, you will break a slightly sideways smile, lick your lips, lay back and go all the f.....g way... "Roll another one, just like the other one..." 😎 It's cool, it's Christmas🎄 Check it out! — 9 years ago

100% CH of which 80% is a variant calked Chardonnay Musque from the Savoie, planted in 1947. 109% oaked fermented. 7 years spent on lees. Low dosage (3-4 g/L). What a lovely wine...full, generous and fresh. Everything is here already but needs to takes its place. Promising future. Melting fruit and texture on the palate. Good energy throughout. — 10 years ago
Lean, full of flavor, elegant, delicate, and finessed. 2009. Disgorged Nov 2012. Dosage 2 g/l. — 10 years ago
This 2009 has not yet been released and is daringly dry at only 2.5 g/l of dosage. Composed of 1/3 each Meunier, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir from vines of around 25 years old. The ripeness of the 2009 vintage is front and center, with great Meunier fruit on the nose. Bright and driven on the finish! — 10 years ago

Perk of the job: a table left a couple of glasses in this Jean Durup 2006 G. Cru Chablis so that was my reward for their service! Very soft, presumably due to the age, and lacking in any acidity whatsoever which made it very pleasant, though I do prefer a little acidity in a wine. Notes of pear and apple were therefore prevalent. At £60 a bottle I'd rather opt for a Montrachet, but nonetheless pleasant. — 12 years ago
