Wine from our Fredericksburg trip. From 4.0??? — 7 years ago
Had it at Brock's Riverside Grill, Fredericksburg VA — 8 years ago
Cellartracker was quite harsh on this one, because someone gave it an 85. On the last trip to Fredericksburg, we discovered the existence of this wine and were able to taste the 15 and 16 Rose wines side by side. This one was the clear victor. Strawberry and rose petals on the nose. The entry is strawberry crush and a Rose petal perfume out of the glass. Medium density. Great acidity. The middle of this wine goes to an herbal hearthiness with a great limestone and mineral grit, with excellent long finish. The 16 by comparison tends to have a lot more citrus and pink grapefruit with higher acidity. Still pretty damn good but this seems to be typical for 16 TX Rose across the board except for Kuhlman. Texas makes some awesome Rose if you know where to find it — 9 years ago
One of our favorites from our June 2016 trip to Fredericksburg. Dave particularly loves this wine! — 9 years ago
Nice Texas sweet red. Love the name. If ever in Fredericksburg TX stop by the winery. — 10 years ago

Very easy to drink, light taste. — 7 years ago
From Signor in Fredericksburg. Definitely worth buying several more! — 8 years ago
It was Weston’s hosting today for the Wednesday Wine Committee and probably the most informative lunch to date. Though everything was tasted “blind” as usual, we were all given a list of grapes to choose from for the whites and the reds, since they were all meant to be very similar.
For me, this screamed French NV. Alexander Vineyards is unique in that their tasting room is in Fredericksburg, but all their wines are sourced and made abroad. Lots of green apple. Little yeast or chalk. Bubbles throughout. Sweet up front. I guessed correctly. ✔️ — 8 years ago
With all the smack and throw down about the recent Texas HB1514 witch hunt, I'm not sure I should admit to heavily armed Texans that I really enjoyed this wine. This wine took about 45 minutes to express. Poured a dark purple into the glass with nose of nitrogen, cola, mint. On the palate, good acidity and supple mouthfeel. The middle of the wine showed an earthy mushroom and young, black fruit. Finishes lighter actually with a floral perfume. Tannic, even after 2 hours. Less than the 2012 though, which is VERY locked up. Great density to this wine. Tasted the 2012 in the winery but bought more of this one. Labeled appropriately as a St Emilion Grand Cru and sold at a Fredericksburg winery. Truthful about origins -- nothing wrong with that!! This one is good to go now but better in a few more years. — 9 years ago
This is the first riserva Primitivo we have had. It was recommended by the owner of Cork and Table, a Fredericksburg restaurant and it lived up to his description and surpassed our expectations. — 9 years ago
In Fredericksburg with Matt, Cork and Table. — 9 years ago
Light, taste of sour candy overall yummy — 10 years ago
Wine Club gathering with 1 white and 3 reds, all tasted blind.
This was firing on all cylinders tonight - I couldn’t have asked for a better presentation. Ever since a random guy sitting next to me at the bar at Pax Americana here in Houston shared this with me I’ve searched and searched for it to buy retail; 2-3 years of searching yielded no results. That is until my wife & I took a trip to Fredericksburg (TX) and stumbled upon a stash of it at Vaudeville. I bought 3 bottles and, after learning tonight how the ‘08 is showing, I wish I had bought the entire stash. Mocha, chewed cigar, eucalyptus, and brooding dark berries. This wine has not only aged gracefully but it’s retained its structure remarkably. Drinking at its peak with many more miles to go yet. — 7 years ago

Bought in Fredericksburg — 8 years ago
Planned a weekend getaway to the Texas Hill Country for my wife after completing/surviving another year of teaching 5 year olds in kindergarten. Love Fredericksburg and so pleasantly surprised that TX are most definitely increasing in quality. Stunned at some of our finds so far!
Calais winery is owned and run by a Frenchman, who is from the northern part of France near Belgium. Ben definitely uses his heritage in crafting these wines and has made a beautiful marriage with this rosé. TX is churning out a massive amount of quality rosés, and after trying 7 different rosés yesterday, this was the winner. I get grapefruit on the nose and finish, alongside faint hints of kiwi and melon. The body and texture on this are superb! (FYI, he seems to be a wizard at Cab Franc here in TX, where that varietal struggles. Well worth a bottle) — 8 years ago
Grape Creek is our favorite winery in Fredericksburg. This wine helped us reach that decision. Slightly jammy with a soft kick to the head. — 9 years ago
Sweet and savory. A Rose for non-rose fans. — 9 years ago
Get this next time in Fredericksburg, Lewis. A great light white, patio pounder. — 10 years ago
