Dark ruby with aromas of dark cherry, forest floor, and earthy. On the bud, it dark fruits, tartness, and a mild spice note. The finish is medium. — 7 months ago

This is a story of two wines. The first one is what I experienced the first evening I tapped the bottle through Coravin, after about 20 minutes in the glass. It opened up to a beautiful melange of red fruit, a touch of spice and an off the charts, distinctive grippy minerality. Truly beautiful. Though they come from radically different climates, it reminds me of the beautiful that Teroldegos of Foradori, or a prettier Hugh end Beaujolais Cru.But it’s so hard to catch it right. Between the whiff of funk at the start, the closed off moments and the drop in quality on day 2 (24h after Coravin!) it’s always a good wine but so much fragility to catch it as its peak — 6 months ago
Wonderful accompaniment to Pat’s spaghetti ($20), fruity, aromatic and light bodied. — 3 years ago
Tasted this wine on the last day of our Sicily trip. With lamb chops. Absolutely amazing. Good body, red fruits, spicy, rich but nicely smooth tannins. Loved it. — 6 years ago

Portelli, grower in the southern bastion of Vittoria, Frappato grape. Medium Ruby color with aromas of rec berry fruit and earthy herb spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with minty herbs, floral and earthy notes. Full-bodied, well balanced chewy drying tannins on a smooth medium+ finish. — 9 months ago
