This is just a delicious brut rosé, really one of the best out there that isn’t four figures...beautiful fruit that melts on your tongue, just excellent — 7 years ago

This old and empty bottle I drank with friends and family members on my Birthday it's a Magnum and wasn't as well cared for as another Magnum of Chateau Talbot also a 1949 Magnum also drank on my birthday with friends who as well as me, are old farts or dead. I'm still kicking but not a clue as to why? Possibly the fine wine I/we consumed? The Talbot was considerably better and I paid less for it back in the 70's. Drank it in 1979 it & me were 30 back then. I loved it then and my guess is I'd love it today!

The Prisoner Red. It's the final four winner against some great wines. Vibrant, smooth, versatile and lively. Hopefully your guests like other offerings because that's more for you! — 13 years ago
At the bottle shop with Becky, chris, patty and me. Nice and smooth! — 4 years ago
Had this with friends for a birthday.
Tasting the wine solo it was very juicy, balanced tannins and slightly acidic with flavors of dark cherries, mocha and cinnamon.
After a bite of roasted lamb this wine was georgeous! It glided across the tongue with the fat of the lamb and all the lovely dark fruit flavors came forward and the acid integrated perfectly making it soft and supple.
I decanted for 4 hours. — 5 years ago

Vanilla, brown sugar, lemon curd, a little simple, more heat on the finish than I would like. — 9 years ago

2001 in Nov 2019 with old friends. Lovely full, deep texture, had it before a salmon dinner and really served as an appetizer, so complete and satisfying. Slight cinnamon with absolutely no edge. — 7 years ago
Drunk on a special occasion with good friends. Delicious, smooth tannins, herbal palate, Berry nose. — 9 years ago

Ripe round blueberries, olallieberries, spiced plum, black cherries, black raspberries, black licorice, violets, Asian spice, baking spices, black tea, crushed/powdery dark minerals, dry light earth, nice acidity and a 45 second round lush ripe fruit finish. Drinking nicely with only four years of bottle evolution. Artemis is a nice value in an otherwise pricey SL lineup. Priced right at Costco. — 10 years ago
Very drinkable. — 10 years ago
New project of Doug Shafer and Elias Fernandez. Beautiful Malbec - full body, lots of character, still young, probably needs more time, but definitely age worthy! Coffee beans, mocha, milk chocolate covered cherry, vanilla, sandalwood. Layers of complexity! Needs time to open up. Velvety finish. — 11 years ago
This makes me a happy girl! One of my best friends. — 14 years ago

This bottle of 1976 Chateau Lafite Rothschild was cellared in a wine cave part of its life and a modern cellar the more recent part of its life. The fill for this bottle was mid-shoulder and the label had been tattered from back when it was in the cave. Using a Durand, I was able to pull the cork intact and it was saturated but seemed to have done its job. The color was good and the wine was sound; in fact, it was very much alive and full of character! Opened about four hours prior to service and decanted for sediment (of which there was plenty). No formal notes. At this stage in its life, the 1976 Lafite pours a garnet color with an orange rim. The nose is straight up old-money. Classy aromas of desiccated red cherries & red currants, dried tobacco leaf, graphite, a mix of organic and inorganic earth, leather and dried baking spices. On the palate, the structure was still quite palpable with tannins till present and acid doing its job with aplomb. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finish is long and graceful with some nice stoney minerals. Drink now but well cellared examples could hold longer if you wanted…but if you’re even thinking about it, just open it! — 3 years ago
