The fight was a draw on points but on QPR the judges voted on the Palmer 🥇
At £340 it has less life but better & a bigger thrill drinking today 🥊 a bit more masculine than Ch Margaux

Always great. You can feel the wood and the freshness in this wine. — 7 years ago
This has always been superior in magnum and this one only reinforced the impression. Still powerful, extracted and opulent. Intoxicating qualities aromatically; leafy forest floor, truffles, but also still, ripe black fruits and some gamey, smokehouse umami. A dreamy finish. I'll wait 10 more years before I open another... — 9 years ago
Monkey 47 Dry Distiller Gin. Slightly hazy, water white, colourless. Pronounced intensity of perfume, juniper, lingonberry, violets, lavender, orange and grapefruit zest. With water added, more perfume and citrus notes to the fore. Dry on the palate. Warming alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity. Long finish. Very complex. Outstanding example of a premium gin. — 10 years ago
I was drawn to the description including caramel and creme brûlée. Delicious! Not too sweet nor too dry. The price makes it even better. Apparently it's hard to come by so I'm buying up all I can tomorrow!!

Birth year Bordeaux and this has been excellent. Very old school nose of copious tobacco, forest floor and dark berries. Medium bodied but gaining intensity over the course of 2 h - tannins completely melted. Bricking is apparent on first pour but the color grows darker with time. Perfect bottle that is a little past it’s prime but fun to step back in time. — 5 years ago
A stunner. Opened with that rustic cab smell. Not sure what lies beneath that initial nose. And then just pure explosive goodness in the glass. Black fruit, swirling with brown fruit in every sip. Lingering finish made for a wonderful moment or two. — 6 years ago
Medium garnet red. Lovely nose with layers of perfume, damp leaves, leather, tobacco and dried cherries. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Tons of dried red cherries on the palate mixed in with leather, damp forest floor and mushrooms. Long and lingering finish, that still has quite a bit of acidity on the back end. Drink till 2038. — 7 years ago
2014 vintage. Surprisingly well balanced for such an inexpensive wine. Fairly tannic with luscious dark berry/cherry notes and quite a bit of spice. Long and lovely finish. Good value red blend. — 8 years ago
A blockbuster. Dry. Needs to sit for 5-8 years. — 9 years ago
Powerful fruit, gamey under-tones, hint of cocoa. Fabulous effort. — 9 years ago

Solid and definitely needed the aerator but aging well. Will be excellent in a few years. Deep and earthy. Lots of dark fruit. — 4 years ago
