The 2nd GC White Burgundy of the day. Nose not giving much - a little closed and sadly the wine a bit cold. The palate a little more restrained and medium bodied than the Jacques Carillon. — 7 years ago
The estate dates back to the Crusades, and Scottish navigator, George Smith, the owner in the 18th century. He was followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, and then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard now own the estate. Dark plum red with dark berry fruit aromas, herb and spice from young Cab vines. On the palate complex sweet black fruit flavors and cacao notes. Firm tannins, rich and full, lingering, mineral ending, unlike the ‘10 wait a few years. — 8 years ago
Beautiful bright nose of dust, dry cherry, and leather. The wine showed its age with light browning on the edge but at first taste tannins, dry fruit, and bright sour cherry notes competed. After a few minutes, waves of sweet cherry fruit soared and the tannins dropped off. Brilliant match to Tuscan T-bone and oso bucco on a warm night in Florence, Italy. — 8 years ago
Now in Florence and well, more Tignanello! Similar experience to the bottle in Venice. Approachable and delicious! Went well with the Bistecca Fiorentina! — 10 years ago

Great with Thanksgiving dinner — 11 years ago
Surprisingly buttery for a chassagne. Nice acidity to balance it. Consistent linger. Lacks the minerality I would have expected. Lemony melon on the nose. — 11 years ago
Discrete nose of white fruit with pears and also a slight minty and smoke feel, very discrete. The palate is gorgeous, such balance between the perfect acidity and slight richness of fruit and elegance. Another great 2017 CDB. 90-91
Nez discret de poires et une touche de menthe et de fumée mais sans déranger. Le vin est délicieux, quel équilibre entre cette tension appuyée et cette richesse de fruit, juste parfait. Un autre beau blanc 2017. 90-91 + — 5 years ago
Love it! Needs hours to open up, but the complexity it develops is in line with even the finest Châteauneuf-du-Pape red. — 7 years ago
This one aging gracefully. Primary fruity and floral aromatics have evolved into loamy dark fruits. On the palate it maintains its elegance and freshness and shows black cherry, black raspberry and subtler spice notes with a very satisfying finish! 2011 Vintage — 9 years ago
Big red fruit. Nice spice on the finish. — 9 years ago
Such a great wine. A little on the pricey side but totally worth it in my opinion. — 10 years ago
Nutty. Creamy. Good. — 11 years ago
Not very full until about 2 hours after opening, but turned out to be full bodied, fruity and very smooth. Definitely a worthy purchase at $25. — 11 years ago

Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to the 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Went to a tasting, had ‘14 & ‘15 side by side. Very dark enticing red with concentrated aromas of dark fruits & earthy notes. Flavors of cherry & plum with tobacco and spice. Firm but approachable tannins, medium length ending with a bit of spice as the finish builds. Best to drink ‘14 now. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago

GUADOAL TASSO BRUCIATO 2013 TOSCANA, CAB 20% MERLOT 15% SYRAH Guado a Tasso estate owned by italian super power Antinori 50 miles SW of Florence in Bolgheri by the sea. Bolgheri became known for being the birthplace of Super Tuscans (wines using mainly international varietal like cabernet sauvignon ,merlot, cab franc and syrah )about 50 yrs ago when the benchmark SASSICAIA was first created. Since then the area has been growing immensely producing some great expensive wines( Sassicaia, Ornellaia , Masseto) but also some affordable easy drinking ones like BRUCIATO that encloses softness of the smell of the breeze that touches Bolgheri and its hills is expressed in the glass with a deep ruby red and hints of cherry, blackberry and sweet spices. In the mouth ,is elegant and cozy ,thanks to a delicate softness , also due to the refinement of 12 months in new oak barrels and nice spice and delicate aromas The nose is dominated by intense notes of ripe red berry fruit and complementary aromas of sweet spices and coffee.Ample and
balanced on the palate, the wine shows silky tannins along with a sweet and spicy finish and aftertaste. — 11 years ago
