2014 Guigal Condrieu La Doriane
Wow. This wine is amazing. I love Viognier and drink a fair amount of domestic Viognier from solid producers like Alban, Roar, Reynvaan, Jeff Cohn, Favia and Herman Story. I love those wines but this is a different animal. This wine redefines the category. Impeccable balance, unbelievable minerality and a finish that lasts 45 seconds. This is a white wine that evolves in the glass in front of you and it is a 2014. I had this alone and then with food, Nicoise salad and it was great with ample acidity. This is a Viognier that is made like a Grand Cru white burgundy. My eyes have been opened to what is possible with this grape. BRAVO — 9 years ago

08' Palmaz Cabernet. I'll just jump right into it. I keep taking sips of this wine... thinking I've tasted this before? Two things come to mind. Rubicon & Favia cab combo.🤔Elegant, soft & silky. Chocolate, black fruits, dried red fruits. Not quite as complexed as those wines. That might have something to do with the vintage? Nevertheless, very appealing. Drinking now. What's not to like.
