Inky, purple, grapey. Rich and rustic. Delicious! — 10 years ago
I totally respect that Fausse Piste is made by a chef, I find his [Jesse Skiles] wine to be slightly rustic and rough around the edges like that of its maker. This is not a wine that will please everyone, so much the better, it's a great example of creative small-lot production, with long fermentation in neutral barrels and minimal racking. It's not polished, rather it is a humble and honest reflection of place—what does shine through are compelling layers of spring heather, anise, wild blueberries, savory herbs and a dash of black olive tapenade balanced against a supple, medium-weight frame. This is not fake Cote Rotie. Had it open for a week, it's still both profound and sassy. — 11 years ago
This was the wine, not the Vignes de Marcoux. — 11 years ago
In Dijon but spotted this on the list for €45 so had to go off piste! Bruised/cooked apple and honey, a touch chalky. Has that great mix of a rich, rounded mouthfeel but follows through with a great mineral acidity, wonderfully pure — 12 years ago

Stainless, neutral french oak, concrete egg - nice. — 11 years ago
No false path here. A terrific Grenache with lovely acidity and bright fruit. — 11 years ago
Imagine a bowl of passion fruit, pineapple, apples and peaches exploding in your face — 12 years ago
Ripe black fruits, but with a hint of the gamey quality that I associate with an old world expression of Syrah. — 12 years ago
Lovely. Light watermelon, mellow berries, just enough acidity for brightness without intrusion. — 11 years ago

Some bangin new Fausse Piste 👊 — 11 years ago
Sourced from outlook vineyard in the Yakima Valley, fermented 9 months in a 1000 liter French oak cask, indigenous yeast, blah-blah-blah. Imagine a trocken Auslese that tastes of stone fruits, rich texture. 90 cases made. — 12 years ago
The best elixir for tired muscles from a day on the piste — 12 years ago

Actually this Gamay is delicate enough to leap on over the moon & land softly on cat's feet in a field of raspberries & lavender! My peeps from Division, Teutonic, and Fausse Piste collaborating anew as Tripod Project. — 10 years ago
