Great depth of flavor for a Pinot — 7 years ago
Drank 1/18/19 at the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux event in Miami. All wines from the 2016 Vintage.
Tasting pour, no formal notes taken. Most of these wines are very tight, and will require 5-15 years to really come together. Many will likely improve a few points with time.
Delicious dark fruit, but I preferred the Pichon Lalande. A stunning wine nonetheless. Will age many years. — 7 years ago

WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!
The most Burgundian styled Pinot of the night. I thought it was fantastic, and still has another few years to get even better. No candied notes, more underripe red fruit (cherry and rhubarb), potpourri, graphite on the nose. Acidity is great. Not quite lean, but not a fruit bomb Pinot. Sage and herbal. Awesome, @Joe Lucca . — 7 years ago
Spaghetti dinner with guests, big hit! — 7 years ago
Nestled between stellar vintages (2004 & 2006) is this 2005 star. I was able to find discounted at Sam's Club! Like all Brunello's, you must decant for at least 30 minutes. Once you do, the consistently 90+ rated pedigree emerges that will make an event or evening more memorable. There are more expensive Italian wines, but a bottle of Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova has never disappointed. Cheers! — 10 years ago
Great holiday event at silver oak. — 11 years ago

A few wines from last week’s 4th Friday event!
The sheer opulence of this is astounding. Obviously young, this was actually my first Realm BTK courtesy of @Keith Fisher . When thinking back to the last stunning 2016 BTK I had (MacDonald), where the MacDonald is more dusty, slightly more herbal and full of tightly coiled BTK power, this was an embarrassment of rich dark fruits, baking spices and sporting a creme de cassis like profile. Classic To Kalon power, with so much to unpack. Thank you, Keith! — 6 years ago

The most closed wine of the night. More red fruit, with frim tannins. This one will likely take several years to unwind, but shows potential. Harder to taste at this stage. — 7 years ago

Another surprise of the night for me. I’ve only had their Syrahs before. Lots of crushed potpourri and underripe red fruit on the nose with a darker palate of violets, black cherry and plum. I need to get some of these. Awesome bottle, @Bill Bender . — 7 years ago
Lovely deep fruit. Very intense and coiled steel with buckets of minerality and drive. There’s a whiff of stewed apple here. I see premox on the horizon, but this is fun now. Should be better in 5 years but certainly not this bottle. — 7 years ago
Tasted and purchased at a Morton’s wine event. OK wine but won’t seek it out. Had with chicken and artichoke. — 8 years ago
Tastes so much like grape juice, if you can get past the fact that it doesn't taste much like wine it's wonderful!!! Super tasty. — 9 years ago
Had once again on November 8, 2015 after trying it at a wine tasting event — 10 years ago
Still very young. Strong and powerful, has a long way to go. Sunny met the owner Melanie Tesseron at a wine event sponsored by ASC here in Shanghai. 2010 vintage. — 11 years ago

Been saving this one & it is in the sweet-spot of its prime. Never forget the first time I had it at the Wine Spectator, Grand Event “Tasting of the Ages” Thing at the Marriot Marquis back in 2014. In the highest of company it beautifully defined itself as more than just a “competitor” with some the most sought-after Cabs in the world- it was in a Leauge of its own. Good chance it’s my favorite Cab of all time.
@tonight its in its prime. — 6 years ago
Drank 5/16/19. Sparkling wine tasting event. Tasting pour.
A dryer style, with yeast, brioche, and toasty notes on the nose. Flavors of caramel apple, vanilla, and toast. Medium finish. Quite nice. Enjoyed this more on this occasion, than in the past.

Delicious black fruit. More complexity and depth than the Grand Puy Ducasse. — 7 years ago

WNH event number two. Rhône varietal wines with TX BBQ...a match made in Heaven!
Another leftover bottle from last night’s Italian theme. Obviously super young, but in the name of research, it was fun to see how this tastes...this is a big and structured Tig. Almost bruising right now. Toes the line between underripe and herbal and fruit forward in style. There is mocha, fig, cocoa dusted bay leaf, and blackberries on the nose. Big on the palate with more dark cocoa shavings, a rich black cherry liqueur and a unique licorice and oregano finish. Give this some time before it becomes a knockout. Thanks for bringing @Mike R ! — 7 years ago
A celebratory special event wine... not just Wednesday. — 7 years ago
Absolute favorite!!! Birthday and bill Truckee event!!! — 8 years ago
Great balance between the yeasty, nutty aromas and apple, mineral notes. Super fine bubbles, creamy texture followed by a precise acidity that cleans everything up perfectly. Thinking I'll need a magnum of this for New Years... — 10 years ago
Great varietal clarity on offer in this very reasonably priced Tassie ripper. Lots of cherries and a nice smoky earth. Big fan! — 11 years ago
This is the "baby" wine made from the grapes that aren't good enough for the main event. Good enough for me! — 11 years ago
Arden Barnett
Commanderie de Bordeaux. Theme was BBQ and 2010 vintage. Fantastic event.
Fun comparing side by side to the 95 Lynch Bages. I find that Lynch Bages wines are best with around 20-25 yrs on them. Thoughts? — 6 years ago
