Starting the week off with the 2011 King Estate Pinot Noir from Eugene, OR. King Estate is located 20 miles southwest of Eugene, OR on the southwest edge of the Willamette Valley on 1033 acres certified organic vineyard. I tried this four years ago and it has seemed to have matured a bit sunce then in those four years. A more pleasurable wine this time around.
On the nose there is beautiful fruit of strawberry, cherry, red raspberry, cranberry, vanilla, a little barnyard, cola and a slight bit of licorice.
On the palate I am getting sour cherry, tart strawberry, red raspberry, pomegranate, vanilla, eucalyptus and a light oak note.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium smooth tannin that leads right into a medium to long beautiful tart fruit prolonged finish. A very nice wine that is an easy drinker. The week is starting off right so have a great week and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago
2013. Bought from vineyard in Alsace France on Rhine river Gris. Grand cru is a little sweeter than regular. — 9 years ago
Light Ruby with a tawny rim. Perfumed nose with Plum Lavender and violets. Very sweet palate of stewed fruits/rhubarb with softening silky tannins. Very much a new world nose - reminiscent of Central Otago. Always liked Ponzi from when I used to visit Eugene when my son was on the Oregon Ducks Tennis Team. A delicious Pinot Noir. — 9 years ago

On the nose, strawberries, cherries, black cherries, blood oranges, soft, unstated chalkiness, volcanic minerals and fresh red & pink roses. On the palate, its delicate, fruit driven. More fruit concentration that the Billecart-Salmon but less than the Ruinart Rosés. Strawberries, cherries, black cherries, blood oranges, tangerines, nice chalkiness, round acidity, brioche & pink roses. It's much more floral than the Billecart or the Ruinart. However, the finish is not quite as long as the other two as well. But, it's still very nice. A little history on the house. Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 and is the main company of the Laurent-Perrier Group, whose other properties include; Salon, De Castellane and Delamotte & Chateau Malakoff. Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 when a former cooper and bottler, Alphonse Pierlot purchased two parcels of land named "Plaisances" and "La Tour Glorieux" in Tours-sur-Marne. When Pierlot passed he willed the company to his cellar master, Eugene Laurent, who ran it with his wife, Mathilde Emilie Perrier. In 1925 Veuve Mathilde died, and left the company to Eugenie Hortense Laurent. Eugenie sold the company to Mary-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt in 1939. In 1949 Bernard de Nonancourt became the owner of the company and saw it become one of the largest family-owned Champagne houses. The de Nonancourt family still retains majority ownership today. Check out those old moldy bottles in the small photo on the left. They've remained untouched for a very long time. — 8 years ago

Great sparkling. Noted of Apple. Only slightly sweet. — 9 years ago
Not bad, reminded me of New Zealand Riesling. It had a hint of Gewürztraminer — 10 years ago
Brought home from study abroad in 2012. This 2011 vintage was one of the best wines I had tasted at that time. Refreshing. — 8 years ago

Great finish to a fantastic wine paired dinner at restaurant Eugene. This was a unique fortified dessert wine that I've never had before. Nutty hazelnut and almond flavor with hints of cherry — 10 years ago
