Excellent dry prosecco with Justin Xmas — 8 years ago
So this guy Möbitz is essential a freak. He works at Novartis a PHARMA COMPANY and makes wine on the side. 500 / 800 bottles of Kanzel and Knöpfle. And what can say - His wines are Awesome💕. I want to thank Lyle Fass to bring these to the US and I think together with Enderle and Moll (which are more herbaceous) these have to be the best Pinots on the Planet forget DRC.
Minty nose. Relative dark color. Then a ridiculous potpourri of flavors. Blackberry ok that is trivial but what else- cherry trival too - thyme, Boysenberry, hint of rose - sour apple gummibears - VERY long. — 9 years ago
Who loves pouilly fume? This guy! Grass, rocks, like I'm eating the backyard. Citrus and refreshingly tart. Essential pouilly fume. — 9 years ago
This wine is a quint essential Syrah!! The velvety mouth feel throughout is phenomenal. — 10 years ago
Sans liege. 2010. Bright with the essential fruit leather character to back it up. The 16% abv is surprisingly well hidden. As with most cali these days I mostly taste weather but nonetheless Not over extracted and not over ripe...I think...if so coulda fooled me, and I'm pretty happy about it. — 10 years ago
2011. Fun wine. — 10 years ago
After long day on the Harley, this crisp rose from Provence proves clean showing an essential mineral-based quench washing away the trail dust and enriching the scallops, etc. in the brilliant French garden @ The Market Place on 20 Wall Street as sweet jazzy guitar works with the wine melting the neck and shoulder stress associated with 7 hours in the saddle screaming across NC, from my azure Carolina coast to our monster waves of blue mountains - Asheville! Sublime almost all the time! Cheers — 11 years ago
Not really inclined to Delectable my own wines but I would like to note this was amazing in a smothered onion sauce (recipe from Essential Italian Cooking) — 12 years ago
The essential character of BF is in its clarity, lightness....ethereal. This 2007 starts with a bit of smoke, stoneyness, and bright fruit of red berries. On the tongue the fruit speaks clearly of cherries. Then there is strawberry, spice, and very light tannins. The finish is long. I believe the fruit is slightly bigger than more recent vintages. Recalling that 2007 was a difficult year, makes this wine quite an achievement. — 8 years ago
Another reminder, as if I need one, as to how superior French wines can be to just about any other place. I dare anyone to find a $20. Bottle of wine anywhere in the new world that has this level of finesse and complexity. Aromas of grilled cherries, charcoal, meats , and iron. Light bodied but full of nuanced facets. Expresses apples, cherries, raspberries, black minerals, iron filings. A true example of how terroir is the essential aspect of great wines. — 8 years ago
Fantastic rose, great acid, medium plus body, and just the right amount of fruit. Terrific — 9 years ago
Super solid Chardonnay. Only $35 and worth every penny. Crystalline yellow with a lime green tinge. Slightly hazy. Great nose of orange rind, lemon zest, essential oil, verbena, and creme brulee. Framed by subtle oak. Almost reminds me kistler Durrell — 9 years ago
Thanks Whole Foods for this great price-quality cab franc! — 9 years ago
Let's begin with one word: FRAGRANCE. Just back from Italia, I will posit that this deep-garnet siren is just about the essence of that famed land on ones nostrils. My olfactory is pleased, greets this cuvee: *ciao*. We get right to business, where smelling is concerned: how very red tea of you, Amore. How very cinar-esque you smell today. Is that chanterelle on your breath, cracked black pepper in your hair, gravel crunching warmly under your feet? Thought so, certo. Moving right along, we address that thing essential to all dancers, composers and clothiers: STRUCTURE. Yours is on the delicious knife-edge of acidic to too-acidic, tannic to too-tannic, in both cases falling on the right side of the blade. Your alcohol level is just warm enough, not hot, and your finish is somehow cool and lingering. You are a cool cat, balanced and self assured. But wait: there's more, because we didn't talk abt your other PERFUMES leaping from the glass and traveling lovingly to my olfactory: brown spice, astronaut strawberry, cranberry, purple flower. DOLCE & GABBANA/ we have, at last, your newest fragrance: La Dolce Susumaniello. Carry on! 🇮🇹 — 10 years ago
Very smooth & velvety — 10 years ago
Showing great tonight. Didn't take formal notes, but I did like the structure. Serving temperature will be essential! Keep this monster cool. — 11 years ago
Essential morellino — 12 years ago
Rustic fare is essential for such a shadowy grove. Cypress informs rosemary, smoked black salt, anise and prune ethereally. Cedar-heavy entry backs down to dense boysenberry, licorice-tinged blackberry that oozes through the finish spilling into a valley full of violets with veins full of sweet tar. — 9 years ago
Initial H2S ( rotten eggs) blows off within 5 mins after opening revealing aromas of essential oils and citrus. More convincing is the length and weight w/o being tannic or cloying. Slight C02 adds lift. This exemplifies great viticulture: quality fruit with impressive extract from Trebbiano no less!! — 9 years ago
Hits all the essential notes in a refined and unpretentious manner. — 10 years ago
Great balance — 10 years ago
Dancer crafts lovely wines. This '10 exhibits essential oil aromas of citrus and white flower; appealing acidity and weight with a youthful finish. — 10 years ago
Larry's roussanne is a game changer. Essential elements of the varietal are present...but bumped up with a lively acid streak. Going out with a bang before flying back to UK tomorrow. — 11 years ago
