Beautiful sweet aromas of warm brown sugar, graphite, and black cherries. Similar on the palate with vanilla and sugar plums on the long finish. Not a hard edge to this wine. Silly smooth tannins. Awesomeness in a bottle. What u get when u take a vineyard that shares a fence line with screaming eagle and Russell Bevan as the wine maker. Inky dark, a bit tighter than I remembered, but still has smoked meat aromas and ripe black fruit and black olive flavors. Very smooth and supple tannins. This bottle wasn't cellared for the last couple months and it may have accelerated its aging, so it's at its peak. — 9 years ago
