The 2015 vintage is much like previous ones I’ve tasted. It has such vivacity—so fresh and lively. For me this wine starts with a sense of the sea —full of minerals and salinity which are so natural and refreshing like some deep essence of our bodies that it brings into presence. To this it adds something of the land and the fruits of human cultivation. These are the aromas of alpine flowers and the scent of lemon. Together they create a pleasure born of our ancient sea heritage and our present dwelling place on the land. They bring together in one sip both heaven and earth. Too much for a simple Bourgogne? No, this elemental nature is its magic. — 7 years ago
Not going to expound upon vintages and weather. This is a really nice wine. Some will say this is a Janoueix play on a new World style. But I find it compellingly balanced for a Bordeaux from a generously vaunted region. The nose a mish-mash of arboreal cuts, with pine interceding, but also a slick, black, stony core that sloughs smoky, elemental suggestions. A tar and graphite mouthful, showing depth without getting gritty or pronounced, then settling on a supple note of blueberry-currant on the carry through, but pleasant and enduring like an empowering conquest! Rise above! Plenty of residual perfume to make it salacious. Dirty as you want to be. — 9 years ago
Sharply defined. Elemental. Characterful. Rough in a way my untutored palate admires. Stands up to the salsa and cilantro. Bravo! — 9 years ago
Clever wine. Very clever. — 10 years ago
Elegant. Elemental. Better on day 2 with raspberry and cherry and forest floor on a taut frame with decent length for a base bottling and tannins to hold for 3-6y if not more. Barely new world. — 10 years ago
This is elemental and overwhelmingly good. Gripping and young but full of stuffing and perfectly balanced. — 10 years ago
So smooth! — 11 years ago

Hit the spot on a chilly deep-dish pizza Monday. Clean elemental soil, freshly watered. — 6 years ago
Sunday roast chicken and @seriouseats crispy potatoes in the foreground, my favorite 2 elves in the back. Somewhere in the middle a Syrah ANIMAL. Delicious. Elemental. Bow down to the master 🤘. — 8 years ago
Smooth and good flavor. Had while at Elemental Pizza in downtown Tacoma. Was young but could taste the potential. — 9 years ago
This is rad, a very good example of why people are freaking out over natural wines. Earthy and elemental. — 9 years ago
Paired well with roast chicken thighs with lemon and garlic — 10 years ago
While I am a novice, this is far and away my favorite wine. A blend of pinot noir and gamay, there is a lot of fruit and spice! Perfect to pair with light fare like salad and amazing on warm summer days. — 10 years ago
The most crisp, elemental, organic flavored I've ever had in a Riesling. Reminds me of a rain stick. Bubbles dancing on the tongue. — 11 years ago
Gothic and elemental, for rumination. Smells of lichen and rainfall. — 6 years ago
Young but boisterous. Big confectionary nose of citrusy, confectionary sugar, melon, huge mineral and a deep elemental feel. Super terrific nose. Palate is razors and wonderful sappy fruit with that razor acid with brilliant juiciness and purity. Terrific depth. So long and has structure to age. Joyous. — 7 years ago
Cellar temp is where this shows best. Slightly oxidative, this shows round edges & mineral complexity on open, but as it breathes it takes on a wonderful elemental/earthy/umami character on both nose and palate. Versatile as they come. It would be a companion for most fish & fowl on the table, but ideal for a cheese board as well. — 9 years ago
How does one tidy up a #day of #snowboarding? with a bottle of #pinotnoir from #japan of course. scents of tilled, damp soil, freshly scattered mulch, broken brambles, & slivers of pata negra follow thru on a palate highlighted by memory evoking flavours of pleasingly tart, just picked red huckleberries while traipsing thru a temperate #rainforest in Southeastern Alaska. Pretty damn expressive & heaps tasty. Get some. #nanatsumori by Domaine Takahiko Soga. Something to linger over, the elemental urgency, litheness & raw, electro beauty of this wine. — 9 years ago
Pure. Elemental. Spring is here. — 10 years ago
