Ofcourse way too young, needs probably another 5 years in the cellar but I absolutely enjoy this youthfulness aswell with already great balance of sweetness and acidity with loads of fresh stone fruit and citrus flavours and a lot of floral notes. Already shows nice complexity and the finish is loooooong — 8 years ago
My first Riesling from Australia out of a Joint Venture Egon Müller does in Down Under. Well made Riesling who doesn't let you feel the heat of the Australien sun. Nice acidity, a bit "hard" on the mid-palate. — 8 years ago

Man, these Julian Haart '16s are awesome from what I've tasted thus far. Electric, juicy, mineral Rieslings with more verve and tension than you can shake a stick at. Very young and a little too reductive on opening right now so splash it in a decanter for a bit and better yet, wait for a few years. Pours a pale gold hue. Medium (+) concentration of aromatics of some slightly funky crushed slate minerality, slightly underripe white peach, honeydew melon, some lees influence that is coming across as aged, hard cheese rind and a slight lager-esque character, and there's some sugar snap pea character as well. There's some of that struck match reduction aroma upon opening as well, but it blows off with a bit of air. On the palate, there's more crushed slate, white peach (ripe rather than underripe like on the nose), honeydew melon, hard cheese rind leesiness, and a bit of beeswax character that was absent on the nose. Nice length on the palate as well. Juicy, intense high acidity, lean, light body, just the slightest bit off-dry. Really nice stuff! Julian's studied under some pretty impressive names (Egon Müller included amongst them) and it definitely shows. Excited to see what he does in the future. — 8 years ago
Just past my favourite zone, acid has taken a backseat, this is like a really ripe pineapple and mango salad. Soft like cordial. 👌 — 9 years ago
Magical, singular, and unfortunately my last bottle. Hopefully we meet again someday. — 10 years ago

97' Egon Kabi Auction. What a treat, but I really got to follow my palate in a blind. Has a real classic kabi feel, but it tasted somewhat too green to me. Kinda like Kai Schatzel's kabi's, but less so. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't like it... In fact, I really do but it just could be a touch better. Oozes freshness, energy, and purity - all characteristics which I look for in a kabi. — 6 years ago

Bright and light. Very powerful but so light on its feet. Really intense with delicate peach and light honeysuckle. Long and focused with great tension — 3 years ago
