Would love to open this against a Rivers-Marie Pinot. A lot of black cherry concentrate and pepper. Finish is very acidic and young...the RM shows a tad more fruit and complexity on the mid-palate. — 8 years ago

"Le Pich" is a Wappo Indian word for "golden eagle". While the Le Pich Cabernet is the minor - league team for the Purlieu Vineyards- this 2009 is an absolute knock-out. Beautifully well rounded and just brimming with soft & chewy cherry tannins- it's a stunner. — 14 years ago

In the ‘test kitchen’ tonight working on a turkey recipe for the big day tomorrow. This is a big wine! Needs a little air but is showing nicely. Tannins are present but restrained. A bit of grip on the finish but the dark fruits and cedar notes linger nicely. The label is a little obnoxious but it is what’s inside that counts. 😂 — 9 years ago
