Aggressive and spicy, even for a wine that's spent almost 10 years in the bottle. A whopping 17.5% alcohol is actually well contained within brambly fruit, earth and mineral notes, and a hint of smoke and meat. Minimal sediment and a pleasant brick color also show through. — 8 years ago
18%. That's the alcohol of this Zin. Surprisingly you would never guess it. I actually contacted the winemaker to ask about this wine and they told me that they let the grapes express themselves and this is how the alcohol reached these levels. Jammy red berries with a touch or raisin, hot earth also on the palette. Again, not a big Zin guy but this is enjoyable (and definitely a Paso wine), a nice oaky finish and almost a touch Porty. — 10 years ago

Black cherry, cola and herbs. — 6 years ago
Bright and juicy. I got strawberries and rose, the other drinker got pure mint tea. Fun was had by all. — 7 years ago
This 2004 Negrette has aged very well. From one of my favorite wineries. — 9 years ago
Makes me want to (want to) make a pot roast with butter potatoes. — 10 years ago
Lightly oaked Viognier from one of our favorite family owned wineries in Paso Robles. Love the wines, but love the owners even more. — 11 years ago

Dark fruit, dark earth and a killer pairing for a butcher's plate. — 10 years ago
Love this winery! I actually enjoyed this one more when it was first opened - after a bit of breathing time it started to develop some Zin characteristics. Still, smoky and robust to begin with. You could start to taste that Paso Robles heat the more it sat out. — 11 years ago
had issues with the '09, but this is stellar and hits the shelf at $20 now, so i've got nothing to complain about. — 12 years ago
CA Haynam
Balanced red blend with notes of raspberry and cherries and some residual sugars on the finish. 5 years in the bottle makes this a wine of note. Goes well with corned beef on St Pats. Thanks for the recommendation Jennifer! — 5 years ago
