3L 2000 Falletto Asili Di Barbaresco brought by DS. Drank at holiday Nobu dinner alongside the 3L 2001 Falletto Di Serralunga D'Alba Barolo brought by K. K preferred this wine to the Asili. Believed this would be better in the longer term, while I thought the Barolo was drinking better now. — 10 years ago

2001 Case Basse do Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello. Drank at Toscana w DS, J, and K. Interesting to drink after the 1996 Musigny. Much bigger, higher acid. Big food wine. We love this. — 10 years ago

1999 DRC LA Tache. Drank at Factory Kitchen w A&C, J&J D, and DS. K favored this over the 1983 Musigny. Especially after letting it air for a few hours. Lovely. — 11 years ago

1996 Riserva Soldera Brunello. Drank w K, DS, and Andy at Toscana. This wine was great w our steak. Hearty, vegetal on the nose, high in acid, it was great w food. We all preferred this to the Gaja. — 11 years ago

3L 2001 Falletto Di Serralunga D'Alba Barolo brought by K. Drank at holiday Nobu dinner alongside the 3L 2000 Falletto Asili Di Barbaresco, brought by DS. I preferred this wine to the Asili. John Br. agreed and thought that while it might not be as good in the longer term, it was drinking better now. We thought the Asili Barbaresco was a bit harsh and big. K preferred the Asili though. — 10 years ago

1996 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogues Chombolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes Burgundy. Drank at Toscana w DS, J, and K. Classic "Burgundian style," as DS put it. Really liked this wine though it flattened out after 2-3 hours. — 10 years ago

1989 La Mission Haut Brion x2. Drank at dinner a WP@HBA w K, A&T, Raj and M DS and AS. Fresh out of an unopened case. Decanted for a good hour on DS's suggestion and could have decanted another hour. Amazing. We were all floored how good this wine was. Strong earthy and vegetal qualities with a super long, balanced finish. Amazing nose. Such a treat by K — 11 years ago
