Mrs A says that this is the best IPA that she’s ever had. I don’t go that far I just say that this seasonal beer is oh so good. The Fernie Brewing Co calls it “Big, boozy and bold their strongest IPA to date... showcasing citrus and tropical fruit notes. Ends with a long, lingering bitterness that shows the hop complexity and aroma.” I agree and continue that it that is very close to the perfect 10 of IPAs. If you love IPA like I do and can handle the high alcohol 8% alc/vol this one is for you. Cheers 🇨🇦🍻 — 7 years ago

This is in your face West Coast IPA, here on the west coast we honor and cherish this beers, these are the ones that started the DIPA beers, this brewery in fact was one of the first, West coast IPA's San Diego brewery, multiple locations, Associated with Port brewery and Lost Abbey, big hops, big malts, we still crave and need these beers, when everyone else is going to the tame and mellow DIPA's it is very good to see this brewery remaining true to what they do, Just Like Stone brewery, in cans, big plus, stays fresher longer, All IPA's and DIPA's should be in cans, Excellent DIPA, in the style, West Coast all the way, no mistake of that — 9 years ago
Double trouble. Short decant, tight and reluctant first 30 minutes with not much depth, then opened beautifully and put on weight and complexity. A front load of cassis, then bruised plum and warm wet earth. Suggest 3 hour decant to let it strut. — 9 years ago
Pine, hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and a touch skunk but great with Sichuan! — 10 years ago
Perfectly aged from 1987! Cork was perfect. Double decant. Fully integrated, past peak Im guessing but still good. Secondary flavor profile dominant. Leather. Tobacco. Prune. — 8 years ago
Delish! A $35 bottle that is worth double that. — 9 years ago
Agreed. Hop monster. Rounds nicely with hints of caramel. — 9 years ago
Was very excited to finally get this in my area, on the west coast, Founders is a highly regarded craft brewery on the east coast, Grand rapids Michigan, heard so many great reviews on their beers, KBS, Double Trouble, so go into this review I expected quite a lot, I must say I am not disappointed, but here on the west coast we have much better IPA's, not putting this beer and the east coast down, hey, that is where I was born and raised, this brew is typical a east coast beer, brewed like a west coast beer, dry hopped with only Centennial hops, very much a staple hop on the west coast, Cascade hops on crack, so to speak, so I am very familiar with this hop character and taste, fruity, Citrus, back end has that tobacco finish, extremely dry, a very well done IPA, I am not disappointed, Founders deserves the high rating they get with their beers, I really can see why people on the east coast love this beer, they are seeking on hoppy beer that sometimes they cannot get from the west coast, Very good, I with be waiting for some more from this great brewery, KBS, and Double Trouble on my list — 10 years ago
Today is international beer day. I haven't been exploring my beers recently but if ever there were a day to do so, today seems appropriate.
This beer is a sexy, fruity, tropical with pineapple and papaya, yet bone dry, complex New England style double dry hopped double IPA. Make good decisions indeed. 👏🙌🎉 ... 🙈🙉🙊

Not as hop-forward as expected but a good beer overall. On the unique side it has a nice tropical fruit finish and it's smooth. — 10 years ago
