Literally my favorite. Oddly enough, it tastes like tootsie rolls, but in a wonderful non-gross way. — 9 years ago
First things first, massive QPR Chablis. Creamy lemon custard wonderfully cut by a crisp acidity. Nicely balanced. I will freely admit, the buttery and oaky Cali Chards favorited by my female elders completely turned me off from the varietal. For starters, those particular expressions of the grape were/are gross. Secondly, it was what was widely available during my youth for secret party wine chug circles. Which for many, I am sure brings back similar hazy toilet bowl "flu" nightmares. This, however, is not my mom's Sonoma margarine. Lovely wine. — 10 years ago
Well this is new. A rosé I actually like. If you're like me and find rosé a gross, confused wine with identity crisis, fear not! This affordable bottle not only doesn't taste bad, it tastes pretty darn swell. It's not bitter and sharp and it doesn't just barge in your mouth all bossy like it knows what you like to drink. This wine is actually smooth and mellow, it's not overly dry or painfully acidic. It's got a fruitier flavor, but it's still super bright and summery. I want to make sangria with this and not even add sugar. Just all yummy goodness. — 10 years ago
I've heard many-a-time, in many a burg-circle, by many-a-respected sommelier that these wines are essentially gross and overoaked. Silly them, more for me-- these wines are delicious and, although not cheap, incredibly reliable amidst a world of unreliable burgundy. This one in particular was unbelievable, a Bourgogne rouge that would put many producers village/1er cru bottlings to shame. Charcoal dusted cherries, underbrush, unidentifiable exotic spices. At only 10% new oak, it's integrated wonderfully and is not in any way over-oaked. — 11 years ago

Lovely lemon curd and honeydew with balanced acidity. To say I love this would be a gross understatement — 11 years ago
I was told the AZ wines were gross. I read every label of the AZ wines and thought this would be the best bet for me. I really like it. Maybe you will think I have a caveman's pallet...but I'd drink this again. — 12 years ago
Sounds gross but yummy. And inexpensive. Good autumn wine. — 12 years ago
Smells so good! Somewhat sweet but not gross. Really good $10 wine! — 13 years ago
A French Malbec that I've held on to for a few years. It's delicious. Really soft and quiet at first with a really powerful finish that you'd get with a Malbec. High acidity, doesn't have a huge amount of the usual fruit notes. More like peppercorns and grapefruit which sounds pretty gross, but I'm enjoying the bottle. It will probably be better tomorrow. — 9 years ago
Not fruity but not gross. Definitely would get again. Get sipping at a BBQ! — 9 years ago
Light oak flavor and good brightness. Not lots of that gross buttery chardonnay flavor — 10 years ago
Top class from Austria. Ripe and serious with a deep voice; a Fischer-Dieskau of Sauvignons. — 10 years ago
Smells both herbal and fruity, tastes like a fruity/citrusy sauvignon with the slightest saline after-taste. Maybe that sounds gross but I really like this one. Dry and acidic without being overly so. — 11 years ago

Incredibly good for Gewurtztraminer but a little sweet for my tastes. — 9 years ago
This is the bottle that made me think I had a future in wine. It was a lonely bottle found in the basement that ended up in a flash sale to make room for restocking. I saw a nearly 10 year old French wine with a $9 sticker on it & thought "Either it's gross or they don't know what they have...either way, MINE!" When first poured I was disappointed - no nose to speak of & sediment, grr. I decanted it and took a shower. MOTHER OF GOD...it's amazing what a little bit of air can do. My partner, who isn't much for red wine couldn't believe how fragrant & smooth it was. We managed to keep from gulping it & enjoyed t across 2 dinners. I tried to find a case & the only one was auctioned through Christies! Ha! Sometimes you get lucky & this wine literally changed my life. — 10 years ago
Fuck yes. Smells like those gross chocolate candies with a mushy cherry and liquor in the middle. But tastes like rocky dark blueberry gamay. As it should. — 11 years ago
Ummm...I like a napa wine??? Big but not gross. Huge wine in a small bottle — 11 years ago
Terrific summer wine!! Funky blend including colombard, gross manseng, SB and ugni Blanc — 12 years ago
phenomenal. "Minges farms with organic practices, and is in the process of transitioning to bio-dynamics; though he’s most interested in the energy in the life-cycle of bio-dynamic practices, he intends to achieve certification in the near future. Minges considers himself more as a cellar master than a winemaker, raising the wines from their birth on the vine as ‘children,’ the grapes need nurturing in the vineyard, then as ‘teenagers’, turbulent in fermentation, they need to be left alone, finally maturing for as long as possible, undisturbed on their lees, eventually coming into their own character. These philosophies guide his decisions: meticulous work in the vineyard, spontaneous fermentation in stückfass, an extra long time on gross lees, extremely minimal sulphur use and only at bottling." — 12 years ago
