Very smooth Chardonnay from Burgundy. Not the oaky style Chardonnay from Cali, this French white is delicate with mineral accents. — 4 years ago
Deep brassy-gold. Nose is very interesting: apricot, wet carbon steel, and a sweet umami-like note that slightly conjures anchovy. Deep and extremely low-toned flavors. Very Marsanne in its broad, low-toned notes and almost pungent, slightly bitter mineral finish. Unusual, but it works. — 5 years ago
Thanksgiving day three 11/25/17. Blind tasting vs Perrin and Guigal. Excellent wine with balance and earthiness. Long finish. — 6 years ago

A brilliant vintage for this wine. A top 5 Crozes. Easy. Spice, game, some funk, blueberry, black berry, black cherry, huge granite and even some wilted flowers. Young but tasty palate of dazzling granite and velvety tannins and engaging energy from the minerality. Terrific power, depth and concentration. Needs 5 years. So long and such beautifully defined fruit on the incredibly long finish. Really rich and dark. Awesome. Wait 5 years. As this opens the balance becomes superb. Almost a 9.4. I’ll be back. — 4 years ago

Thanksgiving day three 11/25/17. Blind tasting vs Guigal and Crozes. Lots of barnyard funk and a bit of heat and black fruits and meats and long finish. Thought it Colombier due to funk. Best value at Acker 6. — 6 years ago
