Quiet the beast for Volnay. Ripe and rich. Hefty oak treatment. — 10 years ago
Very nice surprise ... tasted Rhone-like — 11 years ago
Color is a bit pale, almost looks like aging wine, but the taste proves the opposite—extremely light, open, drinkable bottle. Lots of oak, cherry and tobacco. Tannic, but in a pleasant way. I wouldn't like this wine on any other day, but tonight it turned out to be the perfect choice for lighter Burgundy. — 11 years ago
Oh how sweet it is — 12 years ago

Excellent mature but not over the hill Bourgogne rouge. Big improvement from my last off bottle — 6 years ago
Robe assez foncée. Fruits rouges murs au nez. En bouche, c’est assez costaud, beaucoup de fruits, une certaine richesse et des tannins encore présent. Longueur moyenne. — 7 years ago
Give this one a little time. But it may be THE (or one of certainly) benchmark wines for the appellation. — 10 years ago
fun with old world vs new world Pinot! lots of minerality. will enjoy more later but I burned my tongue on dinner earlier — 12 years ago

This was drinking beautifully showing layers of red & black cherry, berry fruit, lots of spice, earth, mineral & violets wrapped in a silky, velvet texture. I have always enjoyed this producer as I was introduced to Burgundy drinking his 83 & 85 GE’s when they were released — 5 months ago
