Meyer lemon, lemon zest, dusty minerality, lingering finish. — 5 years ago
Lots of character from age but also fresh... from a private stash housed “underneath” the Domaine’s cellar, I am told. — 7 years ago
Very fine value from Montille’s “Maison” negociant label that reflects the Domaine’s elegant style. A richer profile for Saint Romain that shows a certain vintage character. Great freshness, fine-tuned texture and bright acidity. Rounded mid palate that is well-framed by salinity. White flowers provide a measure of lift and nuance. Very fine and versatile young Burgundy at this price point. — 8 years ago
Solid red burgundy, a bit closed initially, primarily red fruited, graphite, moderate tannins, maybe it needs more cellar time? — 9 years ago
From magnum. The 1999 “Le Grands Épinots” pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe red fruits: strawberry, raspberry, red flowers, forest floor, some ferrous earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A solid showing and I would expect the larger format helped with that. Drink now through 2029. — 10 months ago

I thought that for the price this bottle drinks exceedingly well. This is not a watered down bourgogne Blanc, this is better than some people’s champs gains — 7 years ago

Milk chocolate, black currant and slight nutmeg. Mental note for this village of Chambolle-Musigny — 8 years ago
On the lean side but still very fresh and vibrant. Finesse. — 3 years ago
Tasted double blind. Poured a light straw color. Oh. Snap. The nose is so compelling with strong mineral aromas of crushed rock, star fruit, and lime. The palate gets blanketed with bright tropical fruits, lime-ade and minerals...and minerals...and minerals. So much intensity!! Laser focused acid. Fabulous balance. The finish lasts for several minutes...and you love every second of it. It comes across so young. A tremendous wine. — 5 years ago
Still young but showing its pedigree. Strong and spicy red fruit. 1 row away from La Tache. — 8 years ago
