Excellent red. Strong but smooth. — 7 years ago
Very young as of August 2018. Should be a whole lot more ready in a year. Best at cool room temperature as with reds. — 7 years ago
Velvety with a big mouthfeel, hunts of citrus, vanilla, honey, luscious — 7 years ago
A great start to birthday celebrations kicking off, this was a great reminder of the Chateau Neuf region and what it offers. On the nose a baboom level of red, rip fruit with a hint of pepper. On the palate slightly more subtle flavours with complexity, retaining the fruit but adding a floral notes, then developing later on into a darker, tobacco tone. Texture was smooth with very fine tannins - all in all a pleasure to drink! — 2 years ago
Really nice nose and flavors. Smooth as silk. Very happy with this wine. — 4 years ago
Had this in a Sazerac; smooth, maple syrup on the nose, made the Sazerac smoother than the rye whiskey version. — 7 years ago

Wet rock. Raspberries. Brilliant now but this will age spectacularly. — 2 years ago
Most expensive worn in the menu but not as good as the previous one! — 5 years ago
It’s fun drinking Grand Crus, but it’s tough when they’re opened alongside “lesser” red burgundies that are drinking better (at this moment in time). Like many Grand Crus, this comes off as one dimensional but clearly singing its own beautiful song. — 7 years ago
Love this producer. Not my favorite of his wines but that’s just personal taste. 12.5%. Still delicious. Very barnyardy — 7 years ago

2013 vintage. The Premier Cru "Clos du Roi" (or sometimes spelled "Roy") is considered by many the best vineyard in Mercurey. 2013 was a challenging vintage in many respects, but this is delicious. Intriguing nose with coffee beans and cherries, intertwined with floral and herbal impressions. Very fresh in the mouth, with juicy sour cherries, subtle spices, and a slightly rustic tannic backbone. Very good length. No signs of fatigue, I wouldn't be surprised to see this holding up well for another decade. Abv. 13%. — 10 months ago
