The usually tight tannic punch has faded and melded with the usual Washington velvet, a dark abyss of blackberry, plum, black cherry, it's in a nice place, I honestly wanted the kick in the mouth, but it's more elegant than you would expect. And I'm okay with buying her dinner, cause she delivers! She wore the long dress, thought I'd be looking at a short skirt, but this long dress is taking me home, thanks! It smells like old wood. Makes it seem refined. But maybe I only feel that way cause it's 12 years old. A smoky taste. But after swallowing it feels full in my belly. Heavy. Light in the mouth but heavy in the belly. — 10 years ago
This 2006 is a wonderful almost full bodied Chard. Wouldn't have IDed it as Chablis cause it doesn't have the high acidity and minerality I associate with Chablis. Has apricot and hazelnut flavors kissed with Oak. Had with white fish in soy sauce and ginger. Perfect! — 10 years ago

Super interesting. Non-oxidative Savagnin. Reminds me a lot of Chenin Blanc, but spicier. Cutting acidity, but with breadth and this leafy, green character that for some reason puts me in mind of some sort of crunchy fruit seeds. There's a certain richness and power, but the tension and nervousness of the acidity almost cause some cognitive dissonance when you try and contemplate it. — 8 years ago

One of the best upstate wine I have found around. I greatly enjoy this wine and the winery is a great place to visit. I have to buy by the case cause I enjoy it so much! It's a sweeter wine and great for winter or summer. — 10 years ago
Musky, dark cherry plus spice infused forest yet barrel-tinged nose enhancing one's first-blush swig offering a velvety trickle down the throat:). Second swig poured over a mouthful of oyster mushrooms white cheddar fondue, garlic gastrique... Oh so fine, thanks be to the team at Terrapin, in VA Bch, VA. Hanging at the bar getting uber good service from groovy Erica, who gives you plenty of room to breath yet meeting one's every dining need. All so cool! If in VA Bch, hit it!! If eating these mushroom oysters in the wash of this wine, then chill and dig it cause it's the good stuff..:)! — 10 years ago
