Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1991

Magnum 2001 Dominus Estate. D fam dinner at Tap. Spectacular and loved by all. The super green veg notes had mellowed and rounded out. Nice balance of earth, soil, and dark, sour fruit, tho to a much smaller degree. Such a great treat. — 9 years ago

Light and not too sweet or too dry. — 10 years ago

La Rioja Alta

Gran Reserva 904 Rioja Tempranillo Graciano 2001

Oaky oaky oak. Dill and toast. Muted sour cherry. Would have liked to see a bit more fruit or earth, not JUST wood. — 11 years ago

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Our favorite Sauvignon blanc. Light with loads of citrus. Great with shrimp or veg with dip. Between $12 and $16 a bottle. — 12 years ago

Belle Glos

Meiomi Pinot Noir 2013

Deep reddish/purple color which has me on guard relative to Pinot. Worried that darker than lighter raspberry red has had Mega Red or other manipulation but this Pinot just has concentrated character. Varietal rose petal and cherry notes in aromas. You can see the broad influence from the 3 appellations that comprise the wine. Weighty on the palate without being too over bearing for the varietal. Great accompaniment to the saffron broth salmon this evening. — 10 years ago

Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 2008

This is a wine that can be cellared for years to come. We opened it a little early but still a real treat. Straight garnet in color, burnt Carmel and sugar, black tea , a light eucalyptus perhaps and black tar on the nose.
There is luxardo cherry and cassis or kirsch element to the flavor. Great wine.

Château Margaux

Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1983

One of the top wines of the vintage from the word go...a densely concentrated mouthful of very ripe Cabernet & Merlot fruit yet not at all alcoholic or over-bearing. Rather soft and silky at the age 31 and very nicely balanced. — 11 years ago

Have you had an 82 to compare? I didn't but a few believe that many of the top Bordeaux their 83's behave better than their 82's
