Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. Cuvée des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. — 9 years ago
Homemade pasta. Homemade carbonara sauce compliments of yours truly. Bold Italian Brunello....not to mention old. Nights don't get better w/friends. If you've been to Rome, you know the night, the tastes. God Bless, Mangia!! — 10 years ago
God bless willamette Pinot! Not too dry, works the whole mouthful. The nose is subtle for such a nuanced finish. — 10 years ago
Holy smokes. Move over burgundy!! I've managed to converr a few french people by opening this wine and I wish to convert more. This is 100% pommard and with it the profile of a true terrior driven wine with the distinctive presence of new world fruitiness and old world earthiness. God bless the growers in Sonoma and the steady hands of George Levkoff — 10 years ago
Opened up beautifully after about an hour. Luscious combination of wild red fruits and sun-baked rocks. God bless CDP! — 11 years ago
Actually the estate Merlot reserve '04. Of course there'll never be any more if this. If you never visited the winery or net Tom, you'll never understand how satisfying it is to drink this truly great bottle. Beautiful medium garnet heading toward tawny. Fresh blueberry, black pepper, cinnamon, smoke and vanilla mix with a little tar and a loamy, clay quality. Like some lost right bank appellation, one of the best wines I've ever had. I'll never have it again. God bless America. — 9 years ago

Cola on the nose and palette. No signs of aging. Tannins are fully integrated. Finish is long and caressing. I love this producer. This Pinot can go toe-to-toe with the best French burgs. God bless America! 😃 — 9 years ago

With enough aeration and decanting, it's out of this world. Old school CdP. God bless you maestro!!! — 10 years ago

The Beatles wrote " when you get to bottom and go back to the top " this sums up my recent consumption.. The baroness and I disagree about this Italian Stallion, so much so I'm in the spare room - otherwise known as the lager lounge.. This beauty has brought me back to the top, I feel closer to Bacchus.. It explodes like popping candy with an array of flavour which go for beyond my Neanderthal tongue... It's smooth but challenging. The local priest is due for a visit I will ask him to bless the case I intend to buy tomorrow.. Long live Italian grapes@Delectablewine Delectablewine — 10 years ago

Thinking of my grandpa on his birthday. He liked grain belt beer. I have evolved somewhat different tastes, but what I wouldn't give to share a glass of this with him now. God bless his soul RWC — 11 years ago

Ok so there was that one time on the 4th of July when my neighbor said "I know you're in to wine and I just visited my Dad this weekend and grabbed some bottles from his cellar to share with you" .....had a bottle last summer in SF and it is still mind blowing and 100% open for business despite it's youth. God bless America and young women who raid cellars. I'm in love 😍......with her Dad!! — 9 years ago
