Great flavors and concentration but lacking a little vibrancy. Lots of granite and ripe black cherry on the nose, along with wisps of flinty smoke. Deep cherry fruit on the palate, along with deep minerality. A bit of tannin, too, but the knitting acids are kind of low, resulting in a looser feel than I’d prefer. Really good Irancy in a great place. Green herbs, wet earth, dark raspberry, menthol, underplaying rustic barnyard funk with notes of exotic spices. Creamy red raspberry on the palate a with string pepper and spice undertones and an unctuous mouthfeel. Finishes with spice and pepper dominating the acid, both refreshing — 8 years ago
