Not for those looking for power and extraction. More elegant and delicately complex in its development. Med garnet color, and pronounced nose of stewed plums, baking spice, nutmeg, blood sausage, clove graphite and sous bois. Medium bodied, refined tannin. Cocoa powder and fruit leather supported by a fresh supple acidity and a finish that goes just long enough. Drink now if you can find some. β 9 years ago

2014 soon to be released. Get some, for it's their best iteration of Viognier. Whomever says Viognier struggles with acidity will reconsider their claim, cus it's p0pping with acid. The nose is heady, borderline intoxicating on its own. Meanwhile, the palate is exuberant with an exciting finish, each element jockeying to be noticed until you cNt resist another sip, no....drink. Enjoy Dionysus, adios Apollo. β 10 years ago
Big, exciting, good nose. Full flavor. Paired nicely with salami, cheese. Definite bite on the finish (points deducted). This would pair best with bolognese. Great value. Will try again. β 11 years ago
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Summit View in the Walla Walla Valley as well as Dionysus, Weinbau and Den Hoed Benches Vineyards. Made by legendary winemaker, Randy Dunn, of Dunn Vineyards fame, this reveals dense core, with an inviting nose of crΓ¨me de cassis, Turkish coffee, red bell pepper, with hints of white pepper and sagebrush. The palate unveils a silky texture and a beautiful mouthfeel. Decadent blueberry compote, mocha, black tea, anise and sagebrush flavors all impress. The gorgeous bright acidity adds to the enjoyment here. Balanced and rich, this stunning wine will cellar well for the next two decades. While it is delicious now, try to resist this for at least two more years. Drink 2020-2040-95 β 7 years ago
Little known alternative fact, Dionysus inherited his powers after ingesting his entire body weight worth of this wine. The erotic slow dance between the aromatics of hamster bedding and olive brine rousingly primes the palate for a smooth jazz tidal wave of tart cherry occupied by the looming ashy presence of a cottage time fire side chat. Simply magical. β 9 years ago

Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. CuvΓ©e des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. β 10 years ago
Wines no longer made. Stellar wine from great vintage 2005 and all cab from young block at Dionysus vineyard. Jill made some fabulous wines. β 10 years ago
This PV is from Dionysus Vineyard. It was the first crop. I am glad I waited this long to try it. Would have gone much longer with acidity and tannin. Big structure but fruit comes through. Vintages after this have been fruitier more rounded. Fun to drink. β 11 years ago
Very smooth. Oak but not too much. Pear. Apple. β 11 years ago
Amazing blend. Smooth and well balanced, but still bold. Jammy. β 8 years ago
The Walla Walla Cabernet is a blend of 88% Cabernet from(Minnick Hillls, Pepper Bridge, Birch Creek), 8% Merlot (Minnick Hillls, Pepper Bridge) and Petit Verdot (Dionysus Vineyards). Huckleberry, blueberry, blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, dark chocolate, warm spices, lavender, brilliant acidity and a round, fresh fruit finish. Photos of; another fruit sourced Forgeron vineyard, tasting room and fruit ready for harvest. β 8 years ago
As I drink deeply of this much anticipated noir, I am welcomed by the rough oaky feel in my mouth. As this nectar of Dionysus flows over my tongue I am greeted by the tartness of cranberries. Is there no end to his gifts of harvest? β 9 years ago
Unassuming divinity. Purity of expression, clean, focused, excellent, refreshing. Bright cranberry, violet and smooth minerality. This wine shares a union with food like Dionysus at the harvest table. β 10 years ago
Breg Francesco JoΕ‘ko Gravner Table Wine Friuli 1995 .. one of those rare wines that gives me great joy and melancholy at the same time just because since the first sip I do perceive already extinguished the whole bottle in less than half a second; I've no other words to express this elusive feeling, words by mythologist KΓ‘roly KerΓ©nyi: "Where is the kingdom of Dionysus over there life proves irreducible and with no borders." β 10 years ago
Super aromatic and so many delicate flavors. Really neat β 11 years ago

Hey folks, this a totally new wine. 20th Anniversary 100% Petit Verdot, but it is a port-style dessert wine (not the same as their Jongleur PV red table wine). Grapes from Dionysus Vineyard, Columbia Valley. Lightly flavored, well balanced; impressive for their first effort at this style wine. On the pricey side but nice to see the winemaking team stretch themselves so effectively. Iβm posting this 24 hours after tasting the wine as my previous tasting notes got lost in the new wine creation process on the app. β 7 years ago
