Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru Chardonnay 2008

2008 vintage. At Dilettante in Beaune. Medium golden hue. Big wine on the nose - full concentration of cream and ripe lemon citrus fruits, some stone fruit and buttery oak notes. On the palate, opulent and big but with enough acidity to make it drinkable. There's a lot of oak here. Finish is good but the richness is very evident. Drink now until 2023+. The oak might integrate better over time. — 8 years ago

Hutes Côtes de Beaune Pinot Noir 2014

Barrel samples of the naturally made 2014's. Just happened to get to taste with Romain while he was showing the wines to Lolo at dilettante. Vibrant and very fresh. — 11 years ago

La Dilettante Vouvray Sec Chenin Blanc 2016

This is beautiful. Apple, pear, honey, a creaminess, and just the perfect touch of sweetness. Awesome to taste the similarities and differences between vouvray and Jurassic Park chenin even if different sugar levels. — 7 years ago

Delectable: incorrect. It's the 2010 bourgeuil, Cabernet franc. Breton is producer.

Domaine de la Grange des Pères

Vin de Pays de l'Hérault Red Rhone Blend 2013

2013 vintage. At Dilettante in Beaune. Medium ruby hue. Funky nose - meaty and dark fruit in character, leather tan and earth. On the palate, bright fruit and silky, with a lifted note. Tannins are fairly tame, and the acidity is sufficient to make the wine seem fairly fresh. Medium plus body and alcohol, and decent finish. Really not a style of wine that appeals to me despite its obvious eclectic nature. Would leave for another 3-5 years before drinking. — 8 years ago

Les Chétillons Cuvée Spéciale Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2009

Nothing short of superlative, this 2009 Les Chétillons is everything Grand Cru Le Mesnil a la Côte des Blancs can be at its very best; quince paste, orange blossom water, Calisson d'Aix, marzipan, brioche and the trembling tension of Les Chétillons that brings us back again and again no matter how much a dilettante might want never to try the same thing twice. No this is the wine that makes a bachelor hang his bugle in that proverbial invisible baldric -settling into a lifetime with the best this world has to offer. I'd rate this 15 out of 10 for every year my little fox and I have shared together as of today but Delectable only goes to 10. "This wine goes to 15..." — 10 years ago
