Loved this. Not that familiar with Chablis so difficult to define a reference point. Lovely oily texture with good acid and fruit. Great nose as well. — 8 years ago
Nice, Sarah to define. — 8 years ago
Great wine: hard to define, easy to recognise. — 9 years ago
This Ferrari-Carano mix of Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium-dark hue and a nose of red plums, blueberries and sweet oak spice. Stony minerals define the mid-palate. The wine is light in the mouth, with easy tannins. Red berries, cherries and a touch of cola appear on the palate, and it finishes bright and festive with spices - cinnamon and anise - lingering. — 10 years ago
2011 Syrah & Grenache Exotic Rosé : whole cluster pressed & grown with the intention of premium rosé. Fermented dry with 13% alc/vol , partial New French Oak & Sur Lees aged. Incredible flavors & complexity! — 10 years ago
Well, Tokaji Azu belongs to what I define as WOW wines. It is always really good...or better. Usually a pleasure to drink. One of my favorite desert wines — 10 years ago
Wonderful bouquet of honeysuckle, stone fruits, and apple blossoms define this crisp, exotic Viognier that pairs well with shrimp rolls. — 12 years ago
Superb cherry, sour cherry nose. A metallic touch some spices and a kind of earthiness quite hard to define. Some funky barnyard notes as well. The palate is wonderful. You want to chew it for days. Superb balance, cherry again, soft tannins, mild acidity, long finish, a bit of salt, very very enjoyable. Il love it. I declare 2017 beaujo year. #passionbeaujo 2014 seems to be a very good vintage for Beaujolais — 8 years ago
Earthy and anise nose. Medium-plus body, bright plum fruit with nice mineral density and savory tones and herbs. Smooth tannins build, with long glycerine-like finish. A kind of dry orange peel flavor (probably a better description, just can't define) that was nice. Very smooth and complex. — 9 years ago
It could define spend some time aging but it's also great to drink now! — 9 years ago
Pop that screw top, drop it in a decanter, turbo twirl, let set x10 minutes, then go for it - classic Gamay from Beaujolais with fertile earth showing smokey red and black fruit with light effervescence lightly coating all the taste receptors then twisting, turning, clinging before it slips down one's throat thereafter hanging front, sides, and back begging for another swig and associated mind quest to more finely define its groovy self😎 Loving this juice with some olives, almonds Ossau Iratty and Pico..🍷 Do this wine (great with Thanksgiving turkey) and only 12% alcohol; so do it at least x2😎 — 9 years ago
While most see Petit Verdot as something that should only bed used to support or help define a Cab, PineRidge on occasion will release as Astana alone offering. They are always worthwhile and in the case of this vintage a complex and fully satisfying wine. Lush with forward fruit. — 10 years ago
Classic and great depth. Lime zest mineral and sharp acid define this bottling. Superb with fresh made street tacos — 10 years ago
Sus taninos balanceados y su carácter define el sabor de Montalcino — 10 years ago
American Sangiovese!
As I recall, Shafer tried something similar with Firebreak. I loved that (past tense as it is no longer produced), but this is better.
The nose is earthy, yet dominated with cloves and cinnamon.
On the palete, its tightly knit. The wine is precise and polished. Tannins are ripe and muscular. Lovely berries and black olives define the flavor profile. Finishes with sweet tobacco.
Because of its youth, this needs air. It's a beautiful example that should be left to stretch it legs for at least 2 - 3 more years. My rating does not suggest where the wine could go three years from now. Be patient. I expect great things going forward. @Martin G Rivard thank you so much. — 8 years ago
This was a 375ml. Always enjoy Montelena Chardonnay. In a really good place now with balance of oak and acidity. Lemon curd and lightly grilled peaches define this one. — 9 years ago
2012 DEFINE Pinot Noir Rose
Complex. Is it going orange? — 10 years ago
Definitely one to keep in you cellar, dark berries, fruity well rounded. Goes amazingly well with good ribeye steak. Good tannins but mellow on the palate, would define recommend to try.! — 10 years ago
This estate continued to turn out top notch wines that's are truly world-class. Vibrant pale yellow. Aromas of quince, crushed rocks, pear and a single citrus tone define the nose. On entry to the palate the wine is sweeter than expected, but this is likely a vintage condition, as sec can vary year by year. Delicious with cheese and a pretty good match to while wheat lasagne stuffed with ricotta, spinach and mushrooms in a red sauce. I pulled it and popped the cork anticipating chicken pot pie... — 10 years ago
When one has the budget to splurge on a wine like this (all depends on how you define splurge) this is an absolute beauty. Tart fruits - crisp pear and apple - integrated with herbal flavors are a treat. Hard to describe all that's going on here, but the bottom line is this a fabulous wine. — 10 years ago
Deep ruby red with violet tones. Brilliant. Its flavors are highlighted red and black fruits preserved with a clear note of cassis and spices like cinnamon and cloves. In second nose parenting notes with a balmy spring profile with herbal tones that define freshness and elegance. Attack that deals dry palate with freshness and intense flow. Means of ample and juicy mouth, crisp fruit flavors and smoky overtones. Friendly, expressive tannins and long finish . — 10 years ago

Tasted in 2014: Great example of the strong smoky flint and limestone notes that define Pouilly-Fume. Also has aromas of orchard fruit and a smooth, creamy finish. — 7 years ago
