Rhys stopped the Skyline Sirah in 2013 so there aren’t many bottles of this wine around. This one has dar rubi robe, a reticent and elegant nose of black fruit and flowers, and a beautiful mouth with cherries, blueberries and crushed flowers. Bom aroma, cor de vinho maduro, bom corpo. O vinho já está no ponto, a Sil já achou com sabor mais envelhecido, embora não tenha achado ruim. Eu achei muito bom, bem equilibrado e bem encorpado. O álcool se destaca e dar uma sensação de vinho forte. — 3 years ago

Tonight, our pizza wine. One might want a more special occasion! For us, it’s an Italian Anniversary and close to the end of our outdoor season. So, it is a celebration! This is the last weekend of 80 plus degree daytime weather. We have 3-4 weeks before it starts raining.
The nose reveals, candied, ruby, stewed fruits of; blackberries, dark, sweet & sour, dark cherries, slightly roasted strawberries, dark currants & dark raisins. Limestone minerals, dark, rich, turned, black earth, dry crushed rocks, soft, sweet tarriness, some black licorice, leather, soft woodiness, chewy, salted, caramel, mocha, vanilla, dry brush with candied, floral, red, purple and blue florals.
The body is; full, ruby, ripe & juicy. The tension & structure are firm the length & balance are nearing its peak. Candied, ruby, stewed fruits of; blackberries, dark, sweet & sour, dark cherries, slightly roasted strawberries, dar currants, dates & dark raisins. Sucking on limestone minerals, sandstone, anise, dark, rich, turned, black earth, dry crushed rocks, soft, sweet dark, tarriness, some black licorice, leather, soft woodiness, chewy, salted, caramel, mocha, vanilla, dry brush with candied, floral, red, purple and blue florals. The acidity is round and near perfect. The long, ruby, slightly, tarry, ruby, rich, well balanced finish persists endlessly.
The 01 still has another 15-20 years plus of good drinking ahead.

Dar fruits nose. Light to medium body. Smooth tanning, with a bit high acidity. It feels like not very well balanced if you are fan of SA region red wines. :) — 5 years ago
Absolutely stunning nose of barbecued meat, dar sour fruits, kirsch, violets, and pencil lead. Initially very focused on the palate, but then expanded to reveal additional layers of flavored that echoed (in a subdued way) the nose. Graceful finish goes on forever. Powerful elegance, Manfred’s signature call. This one is probably still too young...but it’s awesome nonetheless. — 6 years ago

Medium dar rubi robe. Anise, spices and red fruits on the nose. Medium bodied and medium to long length mouth, very elegant and fresh but with rich, elegant and tight tannins. A really excellent Beaumonts that deserves 5 to 6 years to show all its cards. — 5 years ago

Succulent dar fruits along with herbal and peppery notes. Compared to 2013 that I can remember, this 2014 seems to be more fleshy and a bit more jammy. Higher acidity as well. But the sense of balance was still there. Can’t go wrong with John Duvall wine. — 5 years ago
A very polished and elegant Barolo on a great vintage. Crushed rocks, lavender, flowers and dar fruits on a medium length wine that is a fine act. Lacks the density of the best in this vintage but has what it takes to provide pleasure now or in a few years. — 6 years ago
