Raspay Reserva Alicante Monastrell

2016. $22.5 This producer ages its wines to the maximum maturity, that is, just before it would be classified as a different variety (reserva vs gran reserva) - and you can taste it! This at 9 years had significant secondary notes - lots of stewed fruits, some leather and funk. Almost a little too sweet, drank like a port, but balanced out over time. — 3 days ago

Valencia Bobal 2020

Dark blackberry and black raspberry aromas, tart fruit (currants, black raspberry) balanced by black pepper with a bit of a body to pull it together. The tannins linger softly.

Bodega Mustiguillo Quincha Corral 2012

Vintage 2012 | refined and elegant smell, multi-layered, rich with some mocca in taste. Lovely wine. Interesting detail: I drank this wine at four years old and at that time I was impressed as well. So this wine holds very well. — 3 months ago

Bassus Utiel-Requena Pinot Noir 2021

"The result is cherry red with hues of Violet in the glass. Ripe cherry black currant and licorice with a dash of French Oak in the nose, and a full velvety palate, fruity with toffee undertones. " — 10 months ago

Marina Alta Gran Selección Muscat of Alexandria

One of my favorite ones, so fresh, so fruity, enough dry, in pair with parmesan/mimolette cheese in the hottest spanish days — a month ago

Darmós Montsant Red Blend 2021

Light-colored and very fragrant. Kirsch, raspberry ooze, crushed rock, light spice. Intensely flavored. Alcohol is listed at 14.5, but because this was served too warm it poked through a bit. I’m sure at “chambre “ temp it would be better. Even too warm, it’s very good, and went so well with our tapas selections. — 5 months ago
