Wow. I love this. Cherry, meat, smoke, earth. I used my coravin to just taste it. Then I poured a glass. Then another glass. Ok Brooke says I’m getting drunk and am on my phone too much. Is that really a problem? — 5 years ago
The Valdiguie was kind of meh, got better with air but the Carignan... this is a wild f’in wine. I honestly don’t know what’s happening in my mouth but it’s some combination of red fruit and salted meat. Kind of stopped me in my tracks as I said “wtf is this” — 6 years ago
Had this beauty at a recent tasting. The present-day chateau was constructed in the 17th Century, like many Bordeaux estates, in ruins after WW1. Acquired by the Cruse family in the 1950's, replanted and restored, and declared a Third Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. Deep red with dark berry aromas and sweet spice. The palate shows blackberry rich tannins, still tight, lingering finish with earthy tones. Nice! Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
It's been soooo looong since I wanted to try this, but either the bottles were impossible to source or I kept getting distracted. Gorgeous and definitely not shy of its origin — deep salmon pink color, super aromatic with a whole lot of delicious mid-august strawberries, peach, cantaloupe. Has an absolutely amazing backbone of acidity and texture, rigid and noble, if you want. Beautiful wine, definitely amongst the best American sparklings I've tried. Excited to see more from @Michael Cruse — 8 years ago
Solid bargain and tasty! Would buy again for sure at $8 — 8 years ago
Halfsappig en opvallend licht voor een Merlot. Hij werd gedecanteerd en dat was te proeven! Een veelvoud aan lichtkruidige en fruitige smaken! Lekker, maar iets simpele afdronk. — 9 years ago
My second vineyard of Cruse sparkling Valdiguie and it’s good but it’s definitely the less interesting of the two. Where Deming was a pretty hazy white strawberry, Rancho Chimiles is more upfront - visuals and flavors of bright Jolly Rancher watermelon and pink strawberry starburst. A little overpriced at $35.
Still searching for Ultramarine in Texas - help? — 4 years ago
Bubbles are soft (great texture) and refreshing as hell. Tastes like orchard fruit, some watermelon and rhubarb. Another bottle is needed! — 5 years ago
VT. Thanks @Michael Cruse half case already gone. — 6 years ago
Alder Springs makes Thingz with Zings! Does anything come from this place that isn't a laser or lightning bolt? Must make hair stand on end when you walk through it. I can just picture @Hardy Wallace picking his grapes looking like he had his hand on a van de Graff generator... — 7 years ago
You would think 50 yrs would be off. NOT!!! Had with friends and winemaker. All found it to be outstanding. — 7 years ago
Great expressive nose of Cedar black fruit and menthol. — 8 years ago
2008 pet nat library release? 100% clairette? WTF? Such a fun wine, still very fresh but with a savory side to balance. @Hardy Wallace @Michael Cruse @Vinny Eng you need to find this! — 9 years ago

Raspberries, Cherries, Beautiful Acidity... Definitely a winner! — 5 years ago
Beautiful garnet color with flashes of magenta. Ripe fruit on the nose with a hint of radish. Medium bodied, a little puckery and not overly sweet. Carbonic glou glou, as a reviewer said before. — 5 years ago
Youthful purple color. Light bright acid. Vin de soif — 7 years ago
Very enjoyable. Not quite as memorable as the @Michael Cruse Valdiguie from a few weeks back, but damn good. — 8 years ago

Disclosure I love everything Michael Cruz makes. 2016 sitting for a few years was rich and lush and opened up to rose petal and cherry and plum. Wonderful and sad that was the last bottle. — 4 years ago
