Thanksgiving 2017 at Cozy Corner Cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio. 🦃
Brought out the heavyweights for this weekend and Paradise is an undisputed champion. 💪
Picked up last year on our Willamette Valley tour and so glad we stopped to see Dan @ Utopia.
None of his wines have disappointed. 🍷

Deep ruby red with fine sediment. Nose is dark fruits mixed with spices herbs. A touch smoky with black pepper and a little forest floor as well. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. A bit of heat at the back of the mid palate but dissipates with some air. Layered with dark fruits, a touch spicy, and a little bit of black olives. Finish still lingers with some damp leaves and earthiness. Drink till 2020. — 9 years ago
Outstanding wine from Blankiet. Got to spend some time here in August, and the estate looks like a small piece of Bordeaux. The estate is in Yountville, in their little corner called Paradise Hill. What you get is a Bordeaux style wine, showing Napa fruit, but not jammy rich density that Napa Cabs tend to equate to. Blended with all 5 Bordeaux varietals and usually at least 78% Cab Sauv, it shows a fragrant, floral nose with fresh pressed red berries and light gravel dust undertones. The pallet is lush and very elegant, showing ripe black plum and red apple skin, nice olive undertones, with some clove spices and a beautiful lingering finish. This is for the Bordeaux lover that wants Napa. 2013 was a successful vintage, thanks for another great wine Blankiet! #blankiet — 9 years ago
Still drinking really fresh, lots of life. — 10 years ago
Tremendous amount of oak tannins. — 11 years ago
Beautiful expression of Merlot, with some bottle age and lingering tannins, this has character beyond what some might expect. Explosive ripe plum that turns floral on the nose, one might confuse this for a Pomerol — 11 years ago

Light, refreshing with just a touch of fruit sweetness! — 9 years ago
This seems to go with everything this summer! Lots of layers of flavor in great rosé. — 9 years ago
Paradise Springs a Local winery to me developed a well balanced Cabernet that could compete with any Napa Cabernet that I currently have in my wine cellar. Hitting all the necessary smokey tannins and with deep hints of tobaccos and rich flavors of blackberry. Hints of oak seep through the richness of the wine as the dryness of the Cabernet leave and echo of desire to drink more. Truly a wonderfully rich wine for such a local winery. A delectable red for an everyday drink of sorts. — 10 years ago
Nose dark cherry and vanilla. Taste ripe Bing cherry with undertones of cedar and sandalwood. Really nice wine that has hardly aged over the past 10 years — 10 years ago
This is absolutely one of our favorite wines. Right there with the 2004 Pahlmeyer. — 11 years ago
Good vibrant colour. Good blend of old and new world Shiraz characteristics. Noticeable oak. Went well with lamb chops. 17. — 11 years ago
A mellow Shiraz. The most drinkable Shiraz I've had. I'm loving Mr. Melton. — 12 years ago
Located just east of St. Helena in Napa where Conn Creek flows out of Howell Mountain. Their 26 acres of vineyards are in the heart of this 40-acre grape-growing paradise. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot. A big wine with complex fruit and spice aromas. Juicy black berry fruits, with underlying smooth sweetness combined with smoke, spice and oak. Well structured, tannins still tight, gave in after 90 minutes, ending with earthy pepper character. Enjoyable now but let it sit in cellar. — 8 years ago
Unique. Spicy pepper flavor but not too spicy. After taste is “hot” but wonderful. — 8 years ago
@Shawn R ...WELL DONE! This was part of a trio of wines that Shawn and I swapped. He was swooning over this and said it was a must try. Now I see why. This is a Dave Phinney wine and though you can taste his style, it's more elegant than The Prisoner (similar blends in that this is majority zin! Would not of guessed it). Ton of blackberries upfront on the nose...small spice to it and a rockin cedar/smokey note. On the palate, surprising acidity. Not overpowering from a tannic standpoint at all, even as a '14. Vanilla, toasted oak, blackberry jam. Shawn sent this as I told him my wife likes the jammy and bold zins...home run, Shawn! — 9 years ago

Huge fan of Arrow & Branch overall and this vineyard designate did not disappoint. Very deep violet in the glass with aromas of berries, lead and some oak, but on the palate it is an explosion of blueberries and raspberries with a silky texture and well integrated tannins (even at this young age). A really beautiful wine and so glad I have two more to see how this develops over time. — 9 years ago
I usually don't like fruity reds, but here lies the exception. One of my absolute favorites. And how cool is that label? — 10 years ago
Dark ruby to burgundy in color, smell of berries, mint, cacao, structured tannin with good balance, medium to long finish. — 11 years ago
Classic big California cab with slightly more fruit. Lots of pepper and leather. Great with smoked tri-tip. — 12 years ago
This distincly dark-colored wine has jammy black fruit flavors such as blackberry & plum and finishes with notes of baking spices. — 13 years ago

An amazing wine - beautiful representation of 2012 Dr Crane - what can I say but in other night it would win WOTN but not that night — 8 years ago
