Medium gold color. Nose and color suggest this has a lot of age. Notes of apricot, gravel road, tan spice and lemon crème. Good weight and mouth feel. Nice structure. This is slightly advanced from where it should be at age 20 but drank nicely. Better than the other 02 Leflaive Pucelles I’ve had. — 3 years ago

Nice aroma. Very effervescent. Very enjoyable. I do prefer gosset to this but not a bad bottle. — 7 years ago
Lemon and vanilla on the nose. Crème brûlée on the palate. Last remaining bottle. Good to drink. — 8 years ago
Desert in a glass. Caramelized sugar, sweet and toasty. A touch sweet but delicious! — 9 years ago

Word has gotten around about how obsessed I am with this wine/vintage, so the bev director surprised me with a dessert pour. Same wine, same vintage, but different bottle & a week and a half later. Still a mind blowing wine, though this encounter (bottle had been open a bit longer) leaned more into the crème brûlée, toffee characteristics with less perceptible fresh fruit. Still one of my candidates for best of 2022… — 3 years ago
The 2005 Latour was mind-blowingly profound in two recent tastings for this report. Deep and sensual to the core, the 2005 is utterly captivating. All the elements are so seamlessly put together. Graphite, crème de cassis, licorice, dark spice and lavender infuse the 2005 with so much energy. More than anything else, though, the 2005 is a Latour of texture and resonance. Even after several hours, the 2005 is fresh and full of energy. Wines like this are just life affirming. That's about all I can really say. Tasted two times. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2021)

Velvety texture with notes of mocha, toffee, and espresso, with a black walnut twist. — 9 years ago
Stupendous stuff. Soft, sweet and sexy in the nose. Structured, sultry and cedary on the palate.
Black cherries, Crème de Cassis, vanilla-caramel-mocha swirls. Topped off by some whiffs of earth, ink and soysauce.
Spectacular.

Eileen and Jack at apt in Paris with Roast Pork Tenderloin, mushrooms and Bak Choy. Good wine with a little spice-texture. Less than 10 euro grocery store selection — 3 years ago
High shoulder fill. Cork just short of being completely saturated. Poured into glasses about an hour prior; consumed over a three hour period. Color is a dark garnet with maybe the slightest hint of bricking on the edge. Intoxicating aromas of crème de cassis, tobacco, cedar, baking spices, and forest floor. On the palate, the fruit was remarkably fresh and vibrant for 35 years of age. Zippy, black currants, plums, leather and a touch of earth. Tannins are still holding fast! Finish lasts for a minute, plus. Stunning bottle. Honestly, it’s hard to think of a producer in Bordeaux that punches this far above its class. There was more than enough structure for this to easily go another 10 years...maybe even longer. Wow. — 7 years ago
