Cour Di Pietra

Luc Percher

l'Epicourchois Cheverny Blanc 2013

I can't remember having many wines that went better with a burger. — 11 years ago

Pietra Santa

Cienega Valley Merlot 2005

2005-Grapey/floral aroma, tastes of black cherry with a hint of butter. Slightly dry, a bit tart when first opened, but very smooth after letting it breathe. Impressed by this one. — 11 years ago

One of the better Cour-Cheverny wines I've tasted: a statement that says everything but also nothing. Less unpleasantly oxidative than Daridan, more interesting than de Montcy and Cazin and at much frendlier price than Henri Marionnet. For the money I think this is the best that's out there-- Golden apple skin, celery, tarragon. — 11 years ago

There was a library release of Renaissances a few years ago, including '95s and '96es. If you can get your hands on them, they are sensational wines. In their youth they can be a little cloying though, I agree.

I'll definitely have to seek those out. Sounds spectacular.

Within the last year or so, I saw them at Nice Matin and Bathazar for under $100. Not exactly the sort of thing that flies off a shelf.

Il Faggeto

Pietra del Diavolo Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2006

Vintage is 2006. A little restrained, but showing classic Sangiovese dark cherry and minerality. — 12 years ago

Pietra Santa

Cienega Valley Zinfandel 2009

For < $20 I think I might go back and buy a case. Needs to breathe a bit but then opens up. — 11 years ago

Costa Pietra

Terre Siciliane Nero'dAvola

I had the 2013. It was a nice, light red with a hint of pepper. — 12 years ago
