Rarely try an Argentinian Syrah but here we have one - courtesy of Marcus who has been in the wine trade for 40 years in the Cotswolds. This was medium to full bodied with a savoury Northern Rhone aspect to it with a touch of raspberry on the second day. Enjoyable. — 5 years ago
This was the pick of the tasting at Woodchester Vineyard in Gloucestershire today. Whole bunch peppery stalky aromas with cut grass and gooseberry notes. Won a Gold Medal at International Wine and Spirit Competition. Jeremy the English winemaker had just done a couple of vintages in New Zealand where Sauvignon Blanc is huge. — 5 years ago

Floral, interesting and delightful. Doesn’t need much mixer. Refreshing. — 4 years ago
This is the flagship of the Woodchester Vineyard. Similar to the standard Bacchus except for the terroir and the 100% whole bunch. Same tropical fruits with elderflower. I actually preferred the standard Bacchus but this was an excellent tasting particularly with their still whites. 2/3 of the wine made in the UK is Sparkling. I wish Woodchester every success with their business. — 5 years ago
