A blend of Corvina (60%), Corvinone (20%), Rondinella (15%) and Molinara (5%). Deep red with aromas of black and red fruits and spice. On the palate candied cherry and raspberry flavors with cacao notes and baking spices. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long finish ending with earthy mineral tones. Very Nice! The 2010 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a stunning and seamless blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta that have been air-dried for 3-4 months, or until the grapes lose 40% of their volume. Voluptuous notes of incense, fresh road tar, figs, blackberry reduction and cedar waft from the glass. The palate echoes the nose—there is depth and richness equally matched by a rather nervy cord of mineral-laden acidity wrapped in dusty tannins. An excellent long finish dusted in cocoa powder and sweet tobacco. 15.3% ABV | Sample — 10 years ago
An "authentic" Valpolicella Superiore. No half-dried grapes, no new oak, no sugar. Traditional blend of corvina, corvinone, rondinella, molinara, fruity of cherries, a touch of black pepper, floreal of violet. In mouth: cocoa, coffe powder, cherries. — 12 years ago
