My first viognier with some age on it. Major coconut cream pie, with other stone fruits as supporting cast. Still noticeably high alcohol, but maybe because I usually drink fairly low alcohol whites. Interesting and tasty wine. — 7 years ago

Aromatically very interesting. Flowers, eucalyptus, leather, currants. There's even a hint of vintage port lurking around the corner. Palate is velvety, softened tannins and great acidity. Finish is a bit short. Still a fascinating wine and great with food--a lovely stand-in for nebbiolo. — 7 years ago

This wine is always special. From a plot of land that sits low and tucked away in a corner the first sun dies not touch the vines until 10am. Mineral driven and the most chablis like of Paul's wines this bottling is all meyer lemon and minerality. Rock on. — 9 years ago

Shiraz, Viognier and air-dried skins of Saiv Blanc — 11 years ago
Divides opinion but I thought this was super interesting. A touch of oak, vanilla and cherry on the nose, almost cola-esque. Bright fruits. Cherry & strawberry transforms into an almost Syrah-like depth with fine tannins. Exceptional. — 7 years ago

William Allen is a Grenache Blanc master and his tribute to the late Saralee Kunde is beautiful. The calls of Chablis-like are true! Mouth watering acidity with minerals, citrusy lemon, and green apple skins. Some wild flowers on the finish. — 9 years ago
This fine thing pulls me in as I breath her earthen essence faintly fragrantly post-rain flowerlike wet, dripping a whiff of some distant weed working its way around the corner as a horn player lays out a rhythm to which we dance turning, twisting, eyeing discriminately she shows her plum-to-burgundy rim, then goes deeper, as she lightly touched my lips showing red fruit unctuously lava-like clinging leaving a ripe plum-like memory touched by cassis long and lasting begging for more - so we continue...amazing locally-farmed, open-water oysters... — 9 years ago
Subtle tannins with a bold palate, terracotta colours — 9 years ago
Beautiful honey-amber color in the glass. Nose is a little hot with airplane glue and spice. Palate is much softer, still warm though with oak and loads of vanilla and spice. Nice neat, better with a few drops of spring water. — 10 years ago

Domaine rests atop a limestone plateau in Le Brûlat du Castellet, in the northwestern corner of the A.O.C. Bandol. Hocquard family has been farming this land since 1968, currently run by Agnès Henry. Tried ‘14 &’15 together. A blend of about 75% Mourvèdre with the rest Grenache, Cinsault & Carignan. Deep red with dark berry fruit and spice aromas. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black pepper & herb spice. Fine tannins, lingering with a fragrant ending. Consistent quality. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
Beautiful color. Fruit forward, filled with cherry and strawberry flavors. Has the perfect amount of body and tannins. — 7 years ago
