If it's good enough for Cathy Corison, it's good enough for me. Nothing earth shattering; everything enjoyable. Flint, acid, oyster shell - pale goodness. — 9 years ago
Baking spices, savory herbs, blueberries, plum, lavender... A velvety finish. Enjoyed over conversations at Le Bernardin between courses. — 9 years ago
Excellent - fruity but not jammy or a bomb. Good for spicy stuff. Cathy corison below nails it — 9 years ago
Drinking perfectly. Luscious red fruit, graphite and silky tannins. Love this stuff. — 9 years ago
The star of the night!!! I knew it was good going in, but in a blind tasting it shined and stood up to the Corison Cab, which is one of my all time favorites! Another thanks to the Walker boys for introducing us to this awesome Cab with a splendid nose and deep, earthy, powerful flavor that lasts for a while. — 10 years ago
Amazing cab franc from Corison! Delicate forest floor and green bell pepper — 10 years ago
The flagship of Clos Du Val is their Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1973 vintage was included in the Judgment of Paris. The 2011 vintage presents a similarly styled profile as the same vintage from Cathy Corison as well as Keenan. While it doesn’t hit the high notes achieved by those bottles, it’s a commendable effort considering the difficulty of the vintage. Olive tapenade and fire roasted peppers play well off the warmth of cedar and hot brick. The balance allows the currant and black cherry to sail through, leaving behind secondary notes of earth, graphite, coffee, and charcoal. — 7 years ago
Top 2-3 Napa Cabs I've ever had. Magical nose, cassis, cocoa, red flowers. Rich but nicely aged mid-palate, spreading into a wide swathe of candied red and black fruit, soft but powerful. Secondary stuff in spades. Then - an explosion at the back-end of cedary fruit and fig, tobacco, dark chocolate that lasted for >60 seconds. Just a monumental wine, sadly a solo.
This is note #500 for me, grateful to so many Delectable contributors who take the time to educate and expand my wine perspectives (or, in the case of @Bill Bender...other stuff, too!). Thanks to @Anthony Lombardi @Kimberly Anderson @Jörgen Lindström Carlvik @Jeff Savigny@Ron R@Shawn R @Richard Steinberg @Martin G Rivard (who is living the dream), @Greg Gregory among so many others, not to mention @Roman Sukley with magical reach to inaccessible, iconic SQNs (and the will to pop them) and frank open perspectives from legendary winemakers like @Mike Smith and @Cathy Corison, you all make this a neat community of which I try to be a small contributor.
Finally - a renewed plea to @Antonio Galloni to return "trending" to this community, as it was stolen by the bean counters! I'm no social media expert (I do have 2 teenagers!) but I'm pretty sure that "trending" speaks to the integrity and will to contribute of an entire community...take a look! — 8 years ago
Wow. Just wow. Pure, savory, elegant. Clear pencil shavings and cassis and mint with nearly integrated oak that's subtle but certainly there. This is really damned good. Only thing I've had that's close this year from California was a 25yr vertical of Corison. — 9 years ago
Lovely brut rosé. Twelfth Night celebration Chez Corison Martin. AND helps preserve agriculture in the Napa Valley. — 9 years ago
Stylistically different than the top wines last night chez Corison. Bigger, courser but delicious with the pork loin. — 12 years ago
Côte-Rotie like I remember loving. Mineral, roasted fruit, more than a kiss of Brett. Night shift during harvest @Corison Winery. Kronos pumpover. — 8 years ago
Mellow at 10 years old - classic California style - Dec 25, 2016 — 8 years ago
My wife and I have no idea how this came into our cellar, or anything about Long Vineyards really. But man, this is a beautiful Napa Cabernet, very much in the style of @Cathy Corison and White Rock Vineyards. The 22 months in new French has completely integrated after 14 years, and now it is redolent (first time using that word) with cassis, black olive tapenade, dried herbs, and fine, dusty tannins.
When we grill steaks, this is the type of old-school California we really dig. — 9 years ago
Up high above Vegas had this....have to agree with Corison assessment — 9 years ago
Lots of ripe cherry. Very floral and some great acidity. Thanks for reviewing and getting me interested @Cathy Corison I purchased two bottles. Great price! — 10 years ago
Cathy corison. Try this — 10 years ago
Showing signs of oxidization, but underneath fig and bruised-apple aromas, the nose has a rich and secondary nose of dark black raspberries, cedar, tobacco, dried cherries, and a tinge of cumin. In the mouth, it resembles a printed canvas of dark fruit, leather, cedar, tobacco, and savory tamari notes. There’s a nice texture to the midpalate flavors. It is gorgeously balanced, medium bodied, with lively acidity, still some tannic grip - though refined, and a satisfying length.
This is a wine of substance, at an extremely interesting and delicious point in its life, available for an absolutely ridiculous price. Thanks @Alder Yarrow for the recommendation! (The winemaker is Cathy Corison). — 10 years ago

Pristine cork, decanted for 5 hours: still balanced, complex, and harmonious as a 20 year old in a challenging vintage. Fruit still lively, with mellow tannins—this still has a few years left. Came out best for me in an evening of great old wines: ‘98 Corison, ‘98 Montelena Estate, plus de la Tour ‘99. Never underestimate the consistency of a great estate, year after year. Glad I have another bottle or two. — 6 years ago
