Amazing #Malbec. This #wine never really takes off with bright fruits, but rather hits the palate with mid level black fruit and the structure persists. Light blue flowers and subtle black pepper dominate the nose. A total food wine as the structure, spice and acidity all hit the tongue on the side and finish singular, bitter and slightly vegetal from a brief cherry and jalepeno component. — 7 years ago
Mineral and racing acid with a little almost earthy component. — 8 years ago
Big Aussie 2004 vintage Shiraz. Licorice is primary component with evident dark fruit. Tannins are well integrated. Very nice. — 8 years ago
To date this Albariño has been the best white wine I've ever had. Very balanced fruit component intermingling with zippy acidity and mouthfeel. Very elegant aromatics and extremely drinkable even on its own. — 8 years ago
Been a favorite for years now, it's seems each revisitation brings reaffirmation. I find every component of this experience sublime. — 8 years ago
Nice Pinot, certainly not too fruit forward, nice mix of cherry fruit with a late pallet blackberry component, soft tannins in balance with the fruit and acid. — 9 years ago
On the fruit side of Sonoma Coast. Didn't get the mineral component I like. A great wine still at a steal. — 9 years ago
Couldn't #saberit, but this was a treat. So youthful and the best part is you can taste every component of the fruity base wine still. Amazing! Happy holidays, keep on drinking bubbles. — 9 years ago
Black fruit licorice and fierce tannin. Wonder if it was blended w some Syrah or Carignan. Needs decanting and food. Tar component worked well w osso buco — 8 years ago
Intense core of fruit, within a cage of iron and meat. Savory dusty herb component, high toned aromatics. Velvet texture makes this a supple treat. — 8 years ago
Nice ripe fruit component, beetroot and a hint of dried tomatos on the very interesting and constantly changing nose. Still a very young wine with present tannins. Needs some air to really show what he got. Give it a decant of 1-2 hours. Better in 10-15 years. — 9 years ago
Several hours of decanter time is needed to appreciate this beast.
Still very compact and concentrated, black pepper, brambly fruit, dried sausages, blood, kirsch, some farmyardy funk. Strong alcoholic component. Lots of potential here.
100% Mourvedre. — 9 years ago
The pale yellow '08 Domaine Dujac Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Monts Luisants has elevated aromas of honeyed orange zest, flowers and white peaches. The taste has a more raisiny component with spice and apple notes. Great acidity and mouth-texture. Very powerful finish with a nice lemony aftertaste. — 9 years ago
Red/Black cherry and berry fruit with moderate spice and a great damp earth component. Very lengthy finish. — 10 years ago
A very unique wine. Definitely in between rose and light bodied red. An interesting funkiness to it, but really well balanced and complex. I get strawberries but also like a bitter amaro/vermouth type component. — 7 years ago
Perfect - ready to drink, 96 vintage - starting to get that dried honey component I like. — 7 years ago
Nose: rich nose of sweet honey, orange blossom, stone fruit, white rose... The floral component balance very well the fruit one. After flowers, stone fruit comes
Palate: medium body but still very light, good acidity level - nice citrus then flowers note, honey. Drinkable but still complex enough.

Lots of jammy fruits explode out of this one. Very dry and hot, some gravel. — 8 years ago
2011 - $28
Phenomenal example of Loire cab franc! Red rose, dry leather, tons of small, red berries, and herbal tea. Interesting root veg component on the palate, esp. beet! Love this wine for the price! But give it 5 more years at least! — 8 years ago
Bordering on the stuff of legends, this dense and powerful wine possesses loads of fruit but also refinement and balance. Well constructed tannins, positive acidity and rich fruit play well together with a toasty oak component providing support and already being nicely integrated. No doubt that Andy E is a rock star winemaker. — 8 years ago
Legit! Great robust fruit and floral component. Med to full but not overly concentrated. $9.99 — 9 years ago
Very strong earth component — 10 years ago

Seemed like a good choice for steaks on the grill. Red currant & a mild fig/date component on the back of the palate. Length is unreal as is the exceptionally mild palate weight for such a powerfully fruited wine. Acidity is in front of tannins right now. Accessible, but has plenty of life ahead. — 7 years ago
