Dark fruit and tobacco on nose, would swear it’s a cab based on the nose. Soft fruit with a nice tannic backbone. — 7 years ago
Nice balance of spice and fruit. Enjoyed this wine on a summer evening. — 7 years ago

Wow did this age nicely. Smooth with a nice kick at the end. So glad we found this at a wine shop in Chelsea. — 9 years ago
Fruit forward, silky, entertains the palette. Enjoyable by itself or would pair well with a cheese and meat platter. — 9 years ago
When you’re in the smoke (London), white burgs are front and center. @David L, @Bill Bender, @Shay A, @Mike R, @Joe Lucca, @Carl Fischer, @Eric LaMasters, and @Shawn R would wet their pants over this. Killer expression of burg. Regal, pristine and focused. Extends and expands on the palate. Head-spinning presentation - Chelsea, London. — 5 years ago
Probably the best boxed wine I’ve ever had. Fruity but dry with the smooth finish calling for more. Puts some bottled wine to shame. — 6 years ago
2015 vintage. Already very drinkable, mid-gold, although we decanted. Great texture and mouthfeel with opulent flavours of tree-ripened white stone fruit. Did well with crab raviolo and a calf’s brain & ceps salad at the excellent Medlar in Chelsea, London. — 8 years ago
At home with Judy and Chelsea. Perfect with her stuffed shells. Yum! — 9 years ago
This is a great everyday red. It's not too dry or sweet. It's a good price and not bad for a boxed wine, better than others I've had. — 9 years ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
The Fantesca property on Spring Mtn is gorgeous, and their tasting room at the winery is stunning. Really enjoyed getting to try more of their wines.
I’m really picky on chardonnay, but this was intoxicating. It’s crazy young, but this is going to vault up the scale for me. First comparison that comes to mind is Aubert’s Larry Hyde & Sons, but with a touch less acidity (still plenty). This is supremely balanced. Honeyed stone fruits, lemon cream, and a slate/mineral note on the nose. Rich without being too dense. Vibrant. Powdered sugar lemon bar, meringue, and honey roasted cashews. This was (or may still be), the only chardonnay Heidi Barrett makes. — 5 years ago
Very dry, some hints of berries, perfectly suited to rosé the day away. — 7 years ago
Poured from a 375. This wine, even from 375, was really firing on all cylinders and maybe even a bit locked up for the first hour, just shows you that any vintage in the 21st century really should be locked up in the vault, not seeing the light of day for another 10 years from 375. This wine had a classic Pauillac nose. My initial thought was a young Pichon however even Pichon young seems to have more mushroom, more earthy loam and gravel and this one was just so damn smooth in its earthy notes. The wine was robust on the front, lots of earth, mushroom enhancing the youthful blackberry notes. Finished with some peppery notes. Great terroir notes. This wine was awesome, and I think I probably drank half of this while Walter drank the Spoto :) — 7 years ago
What an interesting wine! It rounded off a wonderful evening with dear friends at Rouge Tomate in Chelsea, NYC, where the service was as excellent as always. This sherry was made from a famed solera called "GF30" that apparently dated back to the 1940s. Such complexity and intensity. Orange peel, toast, walnuts, salinity, and so much more. A real treat. — 8 years ago
Really fruity sweet blend. — 9 years ago

I just grabbed it from the wine cellar not really knowing much about it. Gave myself a manicure and wanted to drink wine while doing it. I finished the entire bottle. It was freaking amazing!!! And apparently around $100. Oops. No regrets. Positively exquisite! Full bodied. Lots of terroir. (Dirt). Earthy. Love love love!! Too bad this vintage is sold out. — 5 years ago
