Sexy fucking wine. Sexy is overused but I’d get in a hastily planned 3 month relationship with this wine that would end in bitter heartbreak. Gorgeous nose. Flowers, big cherries, lipstick vibe. Palate is ripe and opulent with lovely sucrosity and wonderful freshness. Silky tannins and great mouthfeel. Very 15 but also very alluring. Long finish. Wonderful mineral drive and very complex. A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 5 years ago

Nicely developed Bonnes Mares, there is still ample acidity and structure to carry this forward in the cellar. Red fruit punctuated by a high candy-like note along with black cherry, spice and herbs. First signs of getting ready to blow everyone away. Structured, shows potential to become rich once its acidic Pinot noir backbone fades. At this point it nears perfection for me. Showing signs of age but still with the structure, fruitiness and acidity that makes you want to drink this all year long. Vastly underrated at this point on delectacble.
