Bright lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral notes. On the palate flavors of crisp apple, pear and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and garden spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus and mineral spice. Nice! — 8 months ago
Lean, a bit of grip. Really good with dry aged rib eye. — 10 months ago
Dusty patina (like walking through a Japanese temple) pomegranate and cranberry. Mixed white and black peppercorns. Uplifting acid (in a good way) that super complements food. TBL — 2 years ago

Orange pink colour, medium body, citrus lemon nose, tart lemon and melon flavour with medium body mouthfeel and clean finish. A delicious Grenache/ Syrah rose. — 6 years ago
No better label in the business. Sauvignon aromatics, semillon texture. — 6 years ago
Juicy Grenache dominate aromas with red raspberry, strawberry and red cherry fruit. The nose has a nice herbal edge with notes of fresh and dried thyme plus a hint of soy. The wine has a plush mouthfeel with silky tannins. There is good acidity to buffer the fruit and a nice sense of minerality. — 8 years ago
I hadn't had this wine in a couple of vintages and I always have had a sweet spot for it. It's a bit more austere and serious than previous vintages I tasted, and a bit more complex too.
Licorice, blackberry, leather, a touch of mint, some Cola notes and some heat... Wow it's a serious nose, a lot let's playful and fruitful than in my memories. The palate shows a great acid drive, some serious grip, some width, some matter on the edges, a nice blackberry note through and through, along with, again, these Cola notes that I usually associate with natural gamays from the Beaujolais region, some grippy tannins kick off in the rear, powering a long, fruity, grippy finish that lasts for a very long time. These tannins tend to make the wine a bit more austere and complex but the Cola notes remind you it's an organic, natural wine style too. I like it very much. And this is the entry level cuvée of this Domaine! — 7 months ago
Very fresh for 15 years. Enough tertiary funk to play well on the table. A fun cellar release from KLWM — 8 months ago
Inspired by Marcel Lapierre, the wines of Yvon Métras are arguably amongst the most controversial in all of Beaujolais. It could be that some just don’t “get it”. It could also just come down to an individual’s tolerance for his wine making methods (unabashedly natural). Regardless, no one can call his wines boring. This was our first of two Métras wines in the line-up this evening. Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2015 “Moulin-à-Vent” is comparatively dark and rustic to the wines that came before it. It’s a little funky and mousy but not out of control; certainly well within everyone’s tolerance on this occasion. Tannins are a little gritty and acid is well into the medium+ category. I felt like this bottle could probably stand to sit longer. You can drink now but best after 2025 and should drink well through 2035. — 10 months ago

Sufficiently mature so as not make enemies with any palate (or bffs). Drink it if you got it now. Not much fruit left in the tank. What's left is dark. Deep purple in the glass. Mellow and soft now. Finish on the short side. Still, an enjoyable find. — 7 years ago
