Absolutely a stunner. I preferred it slightly above room temp. Paired with a cornucopia of fresh oyster-Sex on the Bay, Blue Points and Beausoleil. 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir disgorged on Jun 2015. Nose of the Krug Grand Cuvée, the oak gives it a sassy side. Slightly creamy texture, lemon curd and honeysuckle fill the mouth. Finish is over 30 sec. A can’t miss Champagne! — 7 years ago

Bought 2006 at Schneider’s in 2014. Opened 2 Jun 2018. Thin brownish light red. Plenty robust. Forest floor, leaves, berries, cherry. Not huge fruit. Tannin on first sip. Second glass even more rich — cerise, cassis — and lively. Structure of tannin, acid alcohol and fruit right in synch. Temperature of 55 is probably too cold.
