With some air, the earth made its way to catch up with the cherry, would have hoped for more integration based on the proprietor's strong recommendation and price tag. — 8 years ago

Gibbston Valley

Le Fou Central Otago Riesling 2007

At 10% alcohol--with I'm guessing 60+ g residuals--the last 9 years leave an impression that is both sweetly-floral and quenching. Not sweet enough to be sticky on the palette, this is akin to peach honeysuckle sherbet. If you're lucky to have one of these tucked away, enjoy it on a bluebird mountain day. — 9 years ago

I do like this Polish immigrant’s craft.

The blend of fruits are a broad spectrum of, sour, candied and floral, ruby, mid & dark, red fruits, dark, smooth spice, cinnamon stick, floral heaven & flat out elegance. The blue fruits in Paul’s wines are incredible.

Les Duresses Monthélie 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

This is a manly wine. Like, "let's smoke a cigar and chat about sports by the grill."
Bold and earthy and fruit.
Super cool that wine can transport you and posses these qualities!

Domaine Ragot

La Grande Berge Givry 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

I got this bottle at the Domaine last year. A chat with a super focused Nicolas Ragot in the middle of a super clean chai left me a great impression. The wine is showing precision and balance. The fruit comes out after a chew and gives a superb tone to after taste. Tasted on 2 days; drink or cellar #bestofgivry #1ercru — 8 years ago

Very sour, so give it a couple of tastes, and reap the rewards of the subtle apricot. Probably best not to look up what the name means till later. — 9 years ago

Long Shadows Vintners

Pirouette Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

It is Friday night and during this time of being shut in our home a group of us had a Zoom chat to try and help in keep some assemblance of normalcy with socialization through Zoom chat. During our gathering I opened the 2016 Pirouette Long Shadows Vintners Bordeaux Blend. A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. A wine from Walla Walla, Washington produced by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka. A beautifully blended wine that will stand the test of time and only get better.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, red currant, vanilla, baking spice, cigar box and rich soil.

On the palate ther is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, red currant, green bell pepper, creamy chocolate, graphite and crushed rock.

This wine is full bodied with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + smooth rounded tannins that lead into a long black fruit finish. What a wonderful wine that all would enjoy. I just wish on our video chat I would have been able to share this with my friends. Maybe some day when we come through this. Please everyone stay healthy and safe. We will come through this. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
