Old world, so needs food! But with food, complements it very well...beef, lamb, red meats in general. Excellent value for around $25. This was a 2012. 2009 is superior. — 10 years ago

Cinnamon is making lamb shanks and I just started reading Mr. Curtis' new book, so it had to be Burgundy tonight. The quote from Claude Arnoux, from 1728, "all the lords who prefer healthful drinks to dainty ones order wines from the Cote de Nuits for their table" made me reach for this Gouges. 1989 from a mag - super transparent - love this vineyard! — 10 years ago
"Domaine Robert Arnoux Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Poiset 1996" 澱が舞ってしまい、色は濁った濃いガーネット、熟成したカシス、腐葉土のようなアロマ。古酒の複雑味あり、しかし枯れることなくグラスの中で花開く。余韻は素晴らしく長い。 — 11 years ago
Well balanced easy drinker would love to stock up on this one — 9 years ago
Nice peppery kick without any jammy sweetness. Great deal for the quality. — 9 years ago
Cedar and perfume. Young tannins. Robust body. Dark and dirty nose. Delightful with gnocchi and roast tomato. Thanks @Snug Dawg ! — 10 years ago
A delicious wine that should show even more in the next few years. With notes of kirsch and black currant, this soft, but complex wine is delicious. It has slight herbaceous undertones that round out the fruit forwardness. Probably one of the better Chat. Du Papes from this vintage. — 10 years ago

Stunning. Folks debated if this was better than the 2006 Clos St. Jaques from Bruno Clair. For me it was a toss. This one was perhaps more earthy and less cherry notes driven - more mushroom 🍄 and forest 🌳 floor. Really wine does not get much better then this! — 8 years ago
