I reckon I might have opened too soon, but it’s lovely the way it moves. Quiet like a stalking cat. It shifts from bright green hints of mint to the cardomom to the cinnamony-cuminy, all behind that stoic dried cherry & autumn earth smell. Big, but with a bright acid, I reckon this is a wine destined to overperform & get constantly overlooked. I fucking love it. — 4 years ago

Hello old friend (you’re even more intense & rich & full of good busyness than I recall) — 4 years ago

Solid two-seam FB nibbling at the edges of the plate: good control, decent oomph, and a good workhorse. The price is outrageously good, though, which I reckon makes it matter more than a standard nothing btl. — 4 years ago

Joyous to sip on. Dizzyingly lush as peonies in high spring, but honey rich & busy as autumn sun draped across the evening lawn. Fucking glorious, & waiting for a hunk of smelly-rotted blue cheese smothered in honey. My word. — 4 years ago

Had me fooled: it’s a big un, full of dust & pencil lead, w/ bright acid. Not a great amount of fruit & darker than expected in the glass. Certainly a savory aspect, & sneaky bell pepper ghosts around in the background. It almost clowns the notion of Cabernet Franc, but something steady, noble, grounded keeps it true. You might not guess it blind, but it makes sense anyhow. — 4 years ago

Roses & quiet vanilla, & lemon candy on the nose; on the palate it’s first gentle & regal & beeswaxy, but it leaves with a quick-splitting sensation of bright acid. Wonderful to sit with a spell. — 4 years ago

I reckon it’s about in its moment, but wouldn’t be surprised in either direction. A little hint of mystery, the nose you expect, & soft & earthy & midbright to drink. For the money I reckon it’s outstanding, & for the drinking a pleasure. — 4 years ago

Great acid, new oak, wonderful, weird almost hybrid buddy. More old world than new in a lot of ways. — 4 years ago

Lovely, & versatile, & feels like it’s got an extra gearchange in its locker every time I revisit it. The sneakseam of richness you expect hid in there, & all the things make your nose think of the earth, the full kernel’d, core ripened height of the season. Fuck yah. — 4 years ago
