At the highly regarded “Somoza” restaurant in Niseko. The food was amazing - this wine overpriced at 47,000 Yen - $470 AUD for a Village wine. Quite a simple wine and a little closed. Was looking for the Chambolle perfume which was not there yet. The palate was uncomplicated and straightforward. Strawberry and raspberry, red currant. Medium minus palate length. Moderate tannins. French wine tends to be overpriced in Japan. — 9 months ago

1996 vintage. At Ryozanpaku in Kyoto, Japan. Medium garnet - slight bricking around the edge. Medium intensity of aromas, manure, earth, blackberry, violet creams and savoury spices. Fairly complex if slightly mature. On the palate, good fresh acidity, medium body and noticeable rounded tannins. The mid palate is flavoursome and impressive. The finish is slightly short. Probably won't benefit from further ageing. However, I suggest giving the wine 30 minutes of air before serving. — 9 years ago
We bought when put to market and stored all these years. Truly good stuff. Complex and dense in spades. If one thing, mrs Barthod does very masculine wines we think. They tend to lack the delicate side of Chambolle. — 7 months ago

Un Bourgogne dune finesse incroyable. 1990. — 6 years ago

A Chambolle-Musigny Grand Cru full of all that is good and great when it comes to Pinot. Blackberry, violets, dried roses. Medium bodied, fine grain tannins, balanced acidity, satin texture! Marvelous. — 7 months ago
